Hello,
I am researching an Alphonre Meunier, (my G. Grandfather)
born about 1858, in or around Saint Cesaire, or St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. He was married to a Delia Gingras, and the family ended up in Pawtuckett R.I. U.S.A.
I know that we have Great aunties named Clare, Antoinette, and Ida. These names also appear in this family, could there be a relationship? Have you ever heard of Alphonre Meunier? His family was supposed to have owned a large farm in the St. Cesaire area, of which he sold his share, and moved to the states. I cannot find anything about these people. My father was also related to La Chapelle's (cousins)if this is in any way helpful.

I received your email this morning, but not the one below. I was having trouble logging onto the site when I found this one.
Bertand Meunier and Madeleine Guibour are my mother's direct decenants. There were many Pierre Meunier's in the family and looking back through what I have, I can find none that were born around that time on my direct line and not in the area of St. Ceasiar Quebec. The closest that I can come to was a Pierre born 1844 in St. Angele-de-Monnior Compte de Rouville, PQ. Mother did not persue any of the Meunier branches, only the direct lines.

We were recently visiting our daughter in Slidel just outside of New Orleans. While there I looked in both the Slidel and New Orleans phone books and was amazed at the number of "Meunier's" living there. However I've not persued any contact.
