MANHATTAN --- Pearl E. Turnbull, 81, Manhattan, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at a Manhattan senior community.
Mrs. Turnbull was a saleswoman for Duckwall's in downtown Manhattan and the Alco Store in Manhattan.
She was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Wakefield, the daughter of Chester and Clara Furrer Mickey. She was raised at Wakefield and had lived in Chapman and Junction City before she moved to Manhattan in 1958.
Mrs. Turnbull was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Merry Matrons at the church.
She married Melvin E. Turnbull on Aug. 1, 1939, in Junction City. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Kenneth D. Turnbull, Manhattan; three brothers, John Mickey, Abilene, Cameron Mickey, Topeka, and Lawrence Mickey, Derby; two sisters, Opal Bowman, Manhattan, and Bernice Dibben, Junction City; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
