Does anyone have information on the ancestors of Rose Ella Middlebrook O'Keefe? I found that she was born in 1887 and that she died 26 Nov 1964 in McLennan Cty., Tx. She married William Earle O'Keefe 22 Nov 1910 but I have not been able to find anything about the Middlebrooks - her parents, etc. Thank you.

hello
I have been searching the data bases here and have only found Middlebrook in the United States. I would really like to hear from someone from Canada to learn "who I am".
My grandfathers name was Randolph if that is any help. The only Middlebrook family I know is from Creemore and Rauseau (sorry don't know how to spell it) Ontario.
If you have any information I would love to hear from you.
Thanks

Robert
My grandfather was Hilton Bruce Middlebrook, who lived right next to Keely's farm. I remember stealing water melons at Keely's place when I was a kid.

How did Leanious get the name Keely?

Also, do you know Hilton's 1st wife's name. He married Fannie in 1910 when she was only about 16/17. Hilton already had two boys: John and Charlie who were about 9/11 years old when Hilton married Fannie. What happened to the first wife?

Also, what is the correct spealing for Leanious/Leonidus? The tomb stone has Leanious.

What is your connection to the Middlebrook family?
Please email me at caclore@verizon.net. Thanks, Clarence Clore.

I'm looking for any information on Louisa Jane Pierce who was the second wife of Elijah Edmund Middlebrook. She was born 14 Sep 1843. She died 27 Feb 1928. She is listed as having married Elijah as Louisa J. Lee, in Barbour county, AL., on the Ancestry website. I am interested in the Lee connection. I'm descended from her and Elijah's daughter Mary Jane. I think she was probably married to a Lee before she married Elijah. My grandmother was Louisa and Elijah's ggranddaughter, and she always said there was a connection between our family and Robert E. Lee. I'm wondering if it is so?

AMANDA MIDDLEBROOK . AL., MS., TX.

Amanda Middlebrook daughter of Ibzan Middlebrook & Jane C. Crawford, b. about 1830, possibly in MS. Lived in MS, primarily Chickasaw Co. until moving into Nacogodches, Co.,TX. in 1844, where grandparents Jesse Crawford & Hanna Warren resided. Then into Limestone Co.TX. Apparently Amanda married Thomas H. Welch, maybe before the moved to Limestone Co., as she is enumerated on the 1850 Robertson Co.Census with husband Thomas H. Welch and son Charles I. Welch who was born 7-12-1849. A daughter, Sarah Jane Welch was born 12-15-1851. A second daughter, Harriet Calistine Welch was born about 1852. Amanda died in childbirth. By April 1859 Jane C. Middlebrook Galloway, grandmother, has been appointed Legal Guardian of the 3 minor children. Apparently Thomas has died about 1858, or left? In 1864 Sarah Jane married Thomas Jefferson Cavender. Charles married Mary E. Ratliff in 1877-78. Know very little about Harriet. Is said she married Bryant Sirmon.

Any information helpful.

Middlebrook(s) Family Meeting: Danville, VA

The annual Middlebrook(s) Family Association meeting will be held in Danville, VA on July 28, 29 and 30th. This year there will be guest speakers for the Saturday sessions who are quite knowledgeable about the Caswell County histories and how they relate to our clan. Come and join us.

See the MFA web site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~midregerrata/
for meeting and registration information. When making your reservations, be sure to mention that you will be there for the Middlebrooks Association meeting. You may want to arrive early to allow for more cemetery hopping and to drive through the area where Isaac and Ann reared their boys in the late 1700s.

If you have any questions or suggestions, contact Dianne at DMMetoo@aol.com or Leonard at gambol@juno.com.

See you in July, Leonard Middlebrooks
Family of Joseph T. Middlebrook and Sarah Williams

I am trying to find out more about the family of Joseph T. Middlebrook and Sarah Williams. According to IGI records, they were married 17 December 1741 in Greenfield, Fairfield, Connecticut. Again, according to IGI records, they had the following children: Rhoda b. 16 April 1743; Eleanor b. 26 September 1744; Sarah b. 30 August 1747; Deborah b. October 1749; Submit b. 30 June 1754; and Eunice b. 16 March 1757 all in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

My ancestor from this family is Eunice who married Joseph Stratton in May 1773 in Connecticut and later moved to Delaware County, New York.

Is there anyone else researching this family. Feel free to contact me at mishbender@mindspring.com
Michele
Middlebrook/s annual meeting

The Middlebrook/s Family Association invites you to join your relatives at the 2004 annual meeting scheduled for July 30-31 in Forsyth, Georgia. The Association, founded in 2000, assembles and preserves Middlebrook/s’ and allied family’s genealogical and historical information.

The highlights of this year’s meeting are getting acquainted, sharing information and family trees (do not forget those old photos) and socializing after hours. The meeting is in the heart of Central Georgia where a great many ancestors settled. While in the area, take advantage of Macon’s Washington Memorial Library that has an extensive genealogical section and do not forget to make time to visit the local county courthouses.

Please contact Dianne Middlebrooks <DMMetoo@aol.com>, for accommodation information, event schedule and mailing list inclusion for other family announcements.
California via Texas Middlebrook clan

My Middlebrook ancestors came to California in the 1870s from Texas. My dad's name is Kenneth Albert Middlebrook, his dad was Robert Alden Middlebrook, and his dad was Arthur C. Middlebrook. The latter was born in Austin, Texas in 1872. The death certificates of both Robert and Arthur say that they were "colored/Negro", though the family story has always been that they were Native-American. It's possible they might have been both, a mixture commonly known as "Black Indians". Though my dad and his three sisters are of a dark complexion, I'm not. I've got the English/Danish features that the Middlebrooks married into.
How is it that my clan got an English name but they are of "Negro/Indian" lineage? Are there any other Middlebrooks out there who are black or Indian? We might be of common genetic ancestry. Please contact me if you have any specific knowledge.

I am looking for information on my Grandfather, Bert Reed Middlebrook, born in 1891 from San Diego California. I know that he served in the US Army during WWI, and was gassed in Europe. He married Helga Elisabet Pettersson. They had one daughter, Emily- born 11-28-1922. They returned to Texas in 1923 due to Helga's declining health. She died 8/31/1923. Emily was given to friends of Helga's sister to raise. Bert returned to California and remarried. He maintained contact with Emily's adoptive parents for about 5 years, then all contact was apparently lost.
I do know that at the time of my mother's birth, Bert and Helga were living on Columbia St. in San Diego and that he was a painter by occupation.
I would appreciate any information on him, his marriage to Helga or information on his second wife and possible decendents.
Sincerely,
Kathy Snowden

A Middlebrooks reunion has been scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 20th and 21st, in Macon, GA with headquarters at the LaQuinta Inn.

The focus of this reunion will be mainly on the Southern branch of the Middlebrooks family, specifically those descended from the seven known sons of Isaac Middlebrooks, born 1727 in New Kent Co., VA. The sevens sons and their dates of birth seem to be as follows:

Isaac, Jr. born ca. 1752/53 in NC or VA
John, born 20 Sep 1755, probably in Orange Co., NC
Micajah, born ca. 1760 in Orange Co., NC
Thomas, born ca. 1763 in Orange Co., NC
Sims, born ca. 1764 in Orange Co., NC
Robert, born ca. 1766
Joseph, born 18 Apr 1770, probably in Orange Co., NC

Most of these men wound up in GA around 1790-1800 and had large families with many descendants.

We plan to meet for discussions, the sharing of data and records and the identifying of corrections that may need to be made to the Middlbrooks Register data.

If you would be interested in this reunion, please contact Dianne Middlebrooks (DMMetoo@aol.com)for details on the motel and the meeting itinerary.

Regards, Jim Rice

Hi everyone. I'm the last in my gender. My grandfathers name was Dalt. He ran Browns Beverages in Gravenhurst. He had one son Stanley who had one son Steve (me). Most of my kin are buried in the Kilworthy Lutherin Cemetary. I'm going to be working with the caretaker to help identify some of the graves. He hasn't a clue. We looked after it as a family for years, until people decided to go there seperate ways. I would love to talk more about Middlebrooks in the Muskoka area.
Regards
Steve

I am tracing my family history and as far back as I can go is to my great great grandmother Martha Middlebrook, born in Stanton,TN in or around 1875. She was a slave and slave owners child. She chose to marry a african american man by the name of Julius Ingram. So by doing this her father gave her either land or money to buy the land away from his family. She relocated in Joiner, AR.
I would like any other information available.

I would like to know if anyone has any information about Mr. Michael Middlebrook of Hold Mills Yorkshire. He lived there in the late 1500s to early 1600s. His daughter Grace married my ancestor Christopher Todd in 1637 just before departing for Boston. Her sister, who married a Wigglesworth, traveled with them and I suspect a brother Michael made the journey too. I cannot find a thing about Mr. Michael, even though he seemed to be a person of some eminence in his area.

Lizzie Middlebrook Davis from Davistown, Al.

Searching for information on Lizzie Middlebrook who married a Davis man. We have no information on this Davis man, not even a first name, except that he had been married before and had a teenage son and he and his son were killed in battle in the civil war. We also have no information on the Middlebrook family. Reportedly, Lizzie owned a lot of land in her later years and donated land for the Davistown church and this is where Davistown got it's name - it was named after Lizzie Middlebrook Davis. Lizzie did have a daughter, Eliza Davis, and both are buried in the Davistown Church Cemetary which still stands today. Any information on the Middlebrook name would be appreciated.
