I am searching for the original spelling of my Mecikalski line. I was told that our family's name may have originally beens spelled something like Mieczykalski. Miecykowski is so close I wanted to see if this is a match. Any advise would be appreciated.

My ancestor that left Prussia:

Joseph Mecikalski born in 1843/44 married to a Maryanna Przytarski (b. 1850). They settled in Milwaukee.
