My grandfather came from the island of Molat of the coast of Croatia. He may have americanized the name from Mikulichin or Mikulicin

The better question is where did they originate?

My grandfather Paul Mikulin came to the United States from Vestin, Moravia. His grandfather was Joseph Mikulin (born about 1780)and appeared at Frankova Lhota, Moravia in 1800 to start my Mikulin line. Let me know where you are located at, my e-mail is RMikulin@AOL.com

My father is no longer in San Antonio. He had moved to Uvalde for a short time before heading east. He now has a house in East Texas somewhere and taking it easy. He is doing fine. I am flying to Texas in a month or so and we have already discussed visiting a few relatives. I will tell him that you are asking about him.

My grandfather Stephen Mikulin had three sisters and four brothers. All who were raised in the Detroit area. As far as I have been able to learn my great-grandmother and great-grandfather came from Kiev. It would have been the late 1800's. They original lived in PA and my great-grandfather tryed to get in to the Army and changed his last name briefly to Miller. He was unsuccessful and went back to Mikulin. I have heard that the last name was shorten when they came to America, I also understand there is a Diary written in Russian. No has bothered to have it translated, but one day I plan too. I don't know if any of this information will help but let me know.

I have no idea where this name change came from. It was sent in my name but it is sent by someone else other then myself using my name......Matt
