My g-grandfather Henry Garrett Thurman II
had a sister named Mary Jane Thurman that married James B.(Bryce)?? Milam,his father was Bartley Burris Milam. Mary Jane was a midwife and I know was still in Travis or Hays Co., as late as 1916 as she delivered my mother and her brother. They were both born in Dripping Spring. I also know that MJ and JB Milam had at least one son named Ed. I'm inclined to think that they may have had a son named Lewis as my grandmother often spoke of her cousin Lewis Milam. I wonder if anyone out there knows anything about the descendents MJ and JB Milam. I know that Mary Jane was born in Texas, some say Arkansas but that is incorrect. She married James B. Milam Sepember 08 1869.
