Classification: Query
Surnames: MILAS, KOENNING
I have found an Otto MILAS who married Esther KOENNING in about 1924.(Esther connects to my family lines.) Otto emigrated on the Prinz Oskar, leaving Hamburg on 25 Mar 1913 and arriving in Philadelphia on 09 Apr 1913.
On the Hamburg Passenger list, it looks like Otto was the son of Gottlieb MILAS of Zarzyn, Russia, but I think he may have been an ethnic German.
In the 1920 census, Otto MILAS, 26, and Reinhold MILAS, 35, both from Russia/Poland were in the household of Fred and Helen HUBNER, also from Russia/Poland.
In the 1930 census Otto and Esther were living in Brookfield, Cook Co., Illinois, where he worked at a dairy.
My database is at
