My grandmother, Kostancja (Constance) Milewski, and her brother Adam Milweski immigrated to the United States in the 1920's from Krakow, Poland. They settled in New York and both my grandmother and Adam married. One day in the late 1930's Adam dropped off a box of papers and a coat with my grandmother in New York and he was never heard from again. My mother does not have the papers any more, and the jacket is long gone, but we do have a picture of him with my grandmother.

My mother, who is elderly now, always remembers my grandmother wondering what happened to her brother Adam.
