This is a newspaper clipping I found in my mother's things. The name of the newspaper is not shown but a hand notation lists date as April 1969. These people are part of the Ellison Miller and Martha Rlizabeth "Mattie" Tate family:

Canton (Texas)Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Miller former long time residents of Dallas, will be honored with open house on their golden wedding anniversary from 2 to 5 pm Sunday April 13, at their home in the Jackson Community near Canton.

Hosts will be their four children and their families:

Mr. and Mrs. Miller were married in Bryan in 1919. They reared their family in Dallas where Miller was on the police force and later an employee of Sheriff Bill Decker. He retired in 1963 and he and hsu wife moved to their present home.

They are members of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at Canton.

Their children are Mrs. Harvey Hall of Houston. Mrs. Nahum Tate of Beaumont, Arthur Miller of Kaufman and Donald Miller of Dalla. They have seven grandchildren.
