Surnames: MILLSAPS, COOPER, KIRKLAND
John B. MILLSAPS was born abt 1885 in Tennessee.
I am researching for a friend.
His family tradition is that Johnny Blackman MILLSAPS married Mary Ann KIRKLAND and had a son with him. Mary Ann died and left John with a young son. This son was Andy Anderson MILLSAPS b. abt. 1908
John quickly re-married to Sally COOPER.
1910 Monroe County census shows Johnny (25) and Sallie (18) MILLSAPS. Johnny has married twice and Sallie married once. I believe this is the Johnny B. MILLSAPS I am seeking.
I do not find Andy in 1910 census records.
1920 Monroe County census shows Andy MILLSAPS age 12 living as grandson in the household of Andy MILLSAPS age 78 widow born in Illinois. Both of the senior Andy's parents were born in Tennessee according to this census.
I have just began research on this family so any help will be appreciated.
