French Canadian Milo Heritage

I realize there are a lot of Italian Milo's out there, but my family was French Canadian, that came from Quebec, and around the early 1800's, crossed over in to Swanton, Vermont, before migrating south in to Massachusetts,(Millers Falls area, South Hadley Falls, Chicopee area) and then down in to Connecticut, around the Vernon area, before dispersing to different parts of Ct. I was told the pronounciation was not originally the way it is pronounced today. More like Milleau, or along those lines. Am curious as to whether the name was originally spelled Milot, with the t being silent. I have traced them to Ct., then they break off and seem to disapear. When I go back to Vermont, I haven't been able to make the link back over the Canadian border. City names have been changed or do not exist anymore. Are there any french Canadian Milo's out there, who are from Vermont, Mass., or Ct.?
