Gloria Miner daughter of George R. Miner
I've got an Louisiana Newspaper the Lake Charles American Press, dated Monday, June 5, 1944 with the picture of Gloria Miner receiveing an award. The capation below the photo reads:
Miss Gloria Miner, memeber of the class of 1944 of John McNeese junior college, was honored at the graduationg exercises by being presented with the Calcasieu Marine National bank award of a gold watch, at the hands of Dean Rodney Cine.
The award is made each year to a student chosen by an anonymous faculty committee as "the student who renders the most unselfish service to the school and to follwo students."
Miss Miner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Miner, 1921 Sixth Street, Lake Charles.
(if this is your relation I would be willing to scan the photo and artical and send it to you)
