James Minor/Miner, b. 1837 and living in Canborough, Ontario in 1871 and disappeared from the family by 1881, leaving wife Sarah Swick and oldest son Asa as "head of the household" according to 1881 Census. James married Sarah Swick (parents Joseph and Mary Swick) and together they had seven children:

1.) James Allen Miner/Minor, Nov. 9, 1857 in Canborough, d. Oct. 7, 1934 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan (m. Lizzie May Walters). James and Lizzie May moved to North Dakota and then on to Saskatchewan.
