Does anyone have information about James C. Minor who is in Liberty, Casey County, KY in the 1840 census?

He is mixed in with a bunch of my families on the same page of the Liberty, Casey Co, KY census pages 45 and 47 on Ancestry:
- John Cooley and Thomas Cooley (I suspect they are related to the next person - Elizabeth (Cooley) Moore)
- Elizabeth Moore (mother of Nancy Jane, George, William and John - maiden name was Cooley)
- James White
- James C MINOR
- - Next Page --
- William White
- Henry Willis (Son of William Willis and brother of Parthena Willis, who married John Moore... son of Elizabeth (Cooley) Moore)

Nancy Jane Moore (daughter of Elizabeth Cooley Moore) married Eli White, my GGG-Grandfather, and I am trying to figure out how he fits into this group of folks in Casey, KY.

I'm at a brick wall, so I have been investigating their children. One of their kids is Frances White (sometimes listed as Delia Frances White) who married Peter Clavier. They had a son named Charles Franklin Clavier. Charles married a Pearl Ann Mills... Pearls mother is Martha Minor. Martha's father is William Githrie Minor. William Guthrie Minor is married to a Minerva MOORE (ding!). Williams father is James C Minor - and I am back to the same set of folks in Liberty, Casey, KY!!!!

I feel like I am circling around the same families and something really obvious is just waiting to be discovered. I KNOW there is a connection... I'm just not figuring it out.

Again, here is the flow:
Elizabeth Cooley married Henry Moore
- Nancy Jane Moore married Eli White
-- Delia Frances White married Peter Clavier
--- Charles Franklin Clavier married Pearl Ann Mills
--- Pearls parents were:
-- Martha MINOR and Thomas Mills
- Marthas parents were William Guthrie MINOR and Minerva Moore
Williams father was James C Minor... and we are back to Liberty, Casey County, KY.

There is more... but I feel like my brain is melting just explaining that part :)

So, does anyone have ideas about how to connect the rest of the dots?

I don't know if I can be any help, my my great grandmother: Frances Mae Minor was from a very prominent family in Atlantic IA. That branch of the family was from Wetzel County in what is now WV. I don't know if we connect, but you are more than welcome to look at my tree

Hi, I too have a Minor from Vt. Her name was Mary T. Minor. She married a Charles Chartier. A daughter, Elizabeth, married Damien Diez(sounds Spanish) but was French. I have Elizabeth dob, abt Feb.1826 in Vergennes Vt. Another record states her pob was Canada. Charles Chartier was born at sea according to one of the US census records. Any connection? County, Massachusetts on the ancestry of Allen-6 and Dorothy (DYER) MINER
who were married at Cummington, Hampshire County, Massachusetts in 1794 and
ultimately settled in Greenwood, Steuben County, New York (where I reside).
In the process, I discovered a lot of "new" information on their parents:

Windsor, Berkshire County, Massachusetts who married Esther-5 ALLYN
(Samuel-4, Robert-3, John-2, Robert-1).

Does anyone have anything on Jack Blanchard Minor son of Harvey Victore (Hal) Minor adn Mary Adelaide Smith? He has two older siblings and was born abt 1912 in Colorado, 10 years after the first 2 children. Is he the same man who served in the State Department and was married to Martha Elizabeth/ Elizabeth L. and had two children, Timothy born Mississippi and Kristina born Dist. of Columbia. I have several passenger lists that I think are this family but that is all. I would love to have death and burial info.

Possible. My GGPA's name was Mike, his first wife, Anna died in PA. They were in Duquesne, PA area where he worked in the steel mills, married another Anna, then bought a farm in Prince George County, VA around 1899 or 1900. Any of this sound familiar?

Minor from Granville County North Carolina

I have reached a point in our family history that seems to stop in Granville County North Carolina around 1740. I have traced the family back to a John Minor, born in 1760, died in 1842. It appears he was born in Granville County, but I have not been able to find anything on his mother or father.

If you know anything about his parents, I would appreciate hearing from you. Likewise, if anyone needs any information that I may have regarding the Minor of Florida or Georgia, please contact me.

Frederick & Mary Minor (Miner) born Bavaria lived NewJersey

Frederick & Mary Minor were both born in Bavaria. He abt. 1836, she abt 1830
I have found them on the 1870 Census in Plainfield NJ.
Children Lawrence 1859, Joel 1863 and Frederick 1866
I can find no trace of them after this, except I KNOW Lawrence lived on as he married Elizabeth Greene and had my Husband's Grandmother: Mary Louise (Minor)Bremmer.
Any help you can give on this would be greatly appreciated.

He was a surveyor/ engineer.
He was born about 1854 in Ohio. They lived in Campbell County and Delaware County.
Think his father was John D. Minor mother, Mary McL ????
Alnette was born 15 Oct 1855 in Indiana. Her father, a physician [Israel Evans] practiced in Ludlow, KY and lived in Bromley, Ky.... This is across the river from Cincinnati and not too far across the river from Rising Sun, Indiana where Alnette was born]

I am searching for my biological father William D. Minor "Bill" he retired with 30 years in at Morton Caterpillar in Morton, Illinois. He and my mother Donna Bell never married but he was a security guard there and my mother work in the cafeteria at Morton Caterpillar. She said he is from Birmingham Alabama originally he was born between 1945-1951. I am 30 years old and just want to find him so he can know his 2 grandchildren. Any info would be appreciated!

Hello,

My mother was born in Independence, La. on September 4, 1961. She was adopted when she was an infant by Lucinda Richards in Baton Rouge, La. The only thing that my mother knows is that her birth mother was attending college in Independence and that the birth mother's family is from Baton Rouge. At one time the birth mother wanted to contact my mother when she was young but the adoptive mother didn't say anything until years passed. The adoptive parents sang in the choir and that is all we know. If someone has any information about the Minor family in Louisiana please help. The birth records are closed; therefore I do not have any first names. Any information would be of great assistance.

I haven't looked at this for awhile. but you might want to look at the Minor family that comes from William and Mary VA. If memory serves me it can be traced back to Mandork Duke around 1638.

Sally was the sister of my great-grandmother, Eunice Miner Mather, daughter of Seth and Azuba Lord. I, too, am trying to find something in black and white that shows Seth's paternity to Eunice. Eunice was born 7/15/1797, I believe in Lyme, CT

i think we might be kin, my family came from Prague (on my GGma's side) but i am unsure of my GGpa's side, though from the same area of Europe. i know his side did the same, settled in PA and then ended up in the Petersburg/richmond area of VA.

do you think it's possible?

I saw your message regarding Elizabeth from 2003. In your message you stated that Joseph Minor migrated to Kentucky and that his grandson was Henry Minor. Was Joseph Minor born in 1760 and Henry in 1826? If so, my great, great grandfather, Lewis, was Henry's brother.

I am trying to find information before Joseph. I found one document that lists his father as William, bn 1738, but that's it.

I would love to know more about my family. If you have any information to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

My mother's maiden name is Minor.
I am looking for the parents of Thomas Minor born 1720 in Locust Hill, Middlesex,VA died 19 Dec 1776; married Alice Thomas born 1725 Caroline, VA died 1790 Spotsylvania, VA. It is said that he witnessed the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Would love to see the book that you are writing concerning all of the Minors. Would be glad to share all the information that I have accumulated.
