There are some nice folks who walk the grave yards and photograph the headstones for posterity. This person has taken hundreds of photos. Sometimes it is nice to have when a family doesn't live close to visit and they will have a photo of the final resting place.

Hello,
My maternal grandmother, Nancy Minton, was from Chattanoga, Tn. She married Wylie Brownrigg Taylor of Berkeley County, S.C. together they had three daughters, Cecile, Olivia(I think, she died very young) and Wanita or Juanita, (my mother.)
She later divorced Wylie Taylor, moved to Gilmer, Ga. or Etowah, Alabama. It is believed she remarried a Swafford.
Would you have any information and any of this tree?

My grandmother was Nancy Minton of Chattnoga , Tenn.
She married my grandfather, Wylie Brownrigg Taylor of Berkely county, South Carolina.
My earliest found Minton relative is Meredith Minton, born it is believed in VA. died in Yadkin River area of North Carolina. He was indentured to a man named "siner". Do you have any information on these Minton's.
I will gladly add you to my tree to read more.

Chattanoga, Tenn.
Do you have any info. on my earlies found relative

MMy great Granndmother was Delia Minton. She was married to Frank Eller. They had quite a few children. They were, Zack,
Ben,Annie, Cora, and Mary Etta, who was my Grandmother. She lived in Deep Gap NC.

Based on my research, I believe ...

Parents of Willis C Minton [M] (b. 1800 Sep 21 d. 1869 Jul 31) are Jesse Minton [M] (b. 1778 d. 1849 Apr 30) and Martha Patsy ???? [F] (d. 1849 Apr 30).
Parents of Jesse Minton are William Minton [M] (b. 1752) and Nancy Ann Scruggs [F] (b. 1755).

Parents of Alfred Minton [M] (b. 1824 Feb 17 d. 1901 Feb 22) are William Hugh Minton [M] (b. 1793 d. 1868 Oct 22) and Rhoda James [F] (b. 1790 d. 1846 Jan 22).
Parents of William Hugh Minton are William Minton [M] (b. 1752) and Nancy Ann Scruggs [F] (b. 1755).

So I believe Alfred's brother was Jesse, whose son Willis C was Alfred's nephew.

I've got some more information on Daniel Minton and Rebecca Satterly Minton. He was born in 1790, and died in 1833 in Wales Center, Erie County, NY. She died after 1860, probably also in Wales Center.

John V. (Jack) Minton, Jr. age 82,
a lifelong resident of Erie passed away Thursday April 9, 2009 at the Wexford House in Pittsburgh. He was born October 9, 1926, the son of the late Cecilia Goodill Minton and J. Vance Minton, Sr. Jack was a graduate of St. Peter Cathedral grade school and a 1948 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory school. He also attended John Carroll University and had served with the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacific theatre. Jack was employed as a manager by the Liquor Control Board of Pennsylvania for 31 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Erie Maennerchor club and also played in the Elk Valley senior golf league. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James A. Minton. John is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Hagerty Minton whom he married in 1957; a beloved son John V. Minton III and a beloved daughter, Julia A. (Julie) Minton of Pittsburgh, Pa. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dr. Gertrude Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Pl., Erie, PA 16507. The family would like to thank Marlin Spellman and Home Instead for the wonderful care that Jack received.

Yes, I would like more information. I don't have any information on children for Mary A. and John Thompson. I do have Martha and William as having 4 children, one died at birth, but I don't know if it was a boy or girl. I did have a chance to go to Cape Girardeau about 3 summers ago and we went to the Thompson Cemetery and found the Minton Cemetery, and I got some grave pictures.

I am in search of information about Sarah Katherine Lambert who married William S. Minton, I believe in Wilkes Co NC. I believe they married on The 25 of dec 1924 in Ashe co. NC. Sarah died june of 1946. I need more information about these people. Sarah was my great grandfather's sister and I am hoping to run her line in order to possible find information on their parents.

1880 census has what appears to be John's younger brother George W Houk married with Susan's younger sister Davie Jane. She may have died in that asiatic flu pandemic 1890 also, or before; 1900 John has a different wife.
