I have Leo's parents as Jean Baptiste Lanthier and Marie Lezima Miller. I have his siblings names as Lusette, Irene, Jessie, Claude, Marie, Delia, Constant, and Ivan. Is this the same Leo Lanthier you are looking for?

May of 1852, son of Leon Mire and Marie Melanie Royer, married to a Celetine Broussard, and is my great-great-great grand uncle (through my mother Sandra,her father Mervine,his father Edward, and His father (Joseph)Reo (brother of this Zepherin)....I don't know of any of your story...but thought that this might help...since this branch of the family is tied to that particular branch of Royers through marriages...please cntact me at ldgoodeaux@yahoo.com

Trying to identify the people in this picture...

Hi. I recently scanned our old family photos for my genealogy project. I was talking to my grandfather and he identified all the pictures except for one. There is nothing written on the back and the uniforms suggest that it was taken during WWI, before my grandpa's time. I am posting this here assuming that someone in the picture is of the Mire surname since it was in our photos. If anyone can identify the people, or can think of a way for me to find out more info, please let me know. Thanks.

Hello. I'm looking for info on my grandpa's granfather, Volcar Mire. I've talked to my grandpa but he doesn't know anything about Volcar's parents. We only know the dates on the gravesite and his wife and children's names. If someone can give me info on his parents, it would be much appreciated. Jean-Baptiste LOYER Sr. died May 3rd, 1827 and was buried May 6th 1827 at St-Timothee (Beauharnois co.) Qc. According to the age given in the record, he was born c. 1759.

His wife Marie (Elisabeth) MYRE was buried Feb. 20th 1809 at Ste-Jeanne-de-Chantal, Ile-Perrot (Vaudreuil co.) Qc. The burial record list her husband as Jean-Baptiste DESNOYER. DESNOYER is a "dit" (nickname) for LOYER. According to the age given in the record, she was born c. 1773.

I did not find the burial record for Jean-Baptiste LOYER Jr. According to his marriage record to Rose LEDUC, he was living in St-Timothee in 1822, but I found no children baptised in that parish.

Irma is the daughter of Joachim Mire and Malvina Gagnon: she was born 30 Mar 1853 Labadieville, St. Philomena Par. LA i have info on a couple of her brothers email me and i will send you what i have.

I am looking for a little bit of information that I hope you have. I have Sylere Bourg, b. mar 1831 in Lockport married to Emily Mire, b. nov 1841, Assumption Parish. Looking for additional information on the Mire line (Bourg line also if you have it). Elson A. Delaune was married to Ida Bourg, daughter of these two.

thanks for your reply. The reason I am interested in this lady is her marriage to Jean Baptiste Loyer b.1771. they evidently had a son Louis Loyer born 1800 at St joachim, chateauguay, quebec. It is the line of that Louis Loyer that I am trying to connect. My 4G grandfather was Louis Loyer born circa 1800 but our family is having great difficulty finding from where he came and who his parents were. So I followed this but came to a dead end at Marie Elizabeth & Jean Baptiste Loyer. If I could prove the connection between Marie Elizabeth Mire and this son as being my 4G grandfather our line would be complete. Do you know anything of Marie Elizabeth's children? It is a long shot I know but your answer would either confirm or put to rest this avenue. Please let me know as soon as is convenient for you.

Hello Marlene. My name is Michele Elizabeth Mire. My father is John Hardy Mire of New Iberia, LA. He was born in 1933. Joined the Air Force sometime in 1953 and retired in 1973. He had black hair (its white now) and blue hazel eyes. He was stationed in Alabama. Let me know if you want more info.

I am looking for the parents of Camelien Mire. His marriage records list Zephirin Mire as the father and Margurette Morison as the mother. Camelien was married in 1858 at the age of 26 so that should put his birth around 1832. It is possible that Camelien was the offspring of a slave.

They had 9 children of which my grandmother, Aline Philomene Thibodeau was born 22 JAN 1884 in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, LA, and died 04 JUN 1954, was the 9th.

Can't seem to be able to get more on the Mire family except that she may have been the daughter of JOACHIM MIRE

i don't know much about irma's family, but one of her daughter's, Angelina Eugenie (10/29/1872 - 5/7/1963) was married to Cyprien Prosper Peltier (10/1/1870 - 8/19/1949) they had 10 children. Eusville (4/16/1893), Author Joseph (4/11/1895), C'Donie (female, 2/2/1897), Clerville (9/4/1899), Lauracia (2/16/1902), Dolze J. (5/30/1904), Felize (3/3/1907), Anthony (8/15/1910), Clay Paul (my grandfather, 1/12/1913 married to Viola Courrege, and Inez Marie (10/31/1916).

I think that I have corresponded with you in the past, but just saw one of your postings, and wanted to let you know that the date for the death of William Mire was July 19, 1913. I have photos of his stone, and the cemetery. Also have photos of Samuel West and Catherine and their children that a very nice person sent to me. Also, Catherine Mire had a sister by the name of Eunice Mire that married a James Mockbee. They had a daughter by the name of Lora that just passed away this past Saturday at the age of 102 years. She was a very remarkable lady, and most of the information that I have on the Mire family came from her. Also the photo of William Mire with Catherine and Frank in the same photo. Thought that I would let you know about Lora Mockbee, who was my cousin.

Sarah C. Mire was born to John Curry Mire and Nancy Virginia Dennis Mire on February 16, 1874. Her first husband was Frank Atchison and her second husband was Samuel West. Her grandparents were William Mire (b.12-11-1925, Baden Germany, d.7-19-1930, KY) and Catherine Nunnery(b.1828, VA, d.11-29-1906,KY). Sarah would have been my aunt. She was one of eight children.
