According to the librarian at the Watertown, Mass. library, there seems to be no doubt the Mixter and Mixer surnames are the same. Depending on the clerk, the Old English 't' was at times omitted. It is my opinion that the names should even be pronounced the same. The 't' should be silent. How else could the clerks make such a mistake. However, this is just a conversation point now (especially if someone calls my Mixture!).
The most activity now is in the cousin Mixer surname board.
I vote to use it exclusively. See you on the Mixer side.
