I am researching the Andreas and Anna Mlekusch/Mlekus family who lived in the Soca area. They were the parents of seven known sons. At least four of the sons immigrated to the USA in the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

I bought this little card probably from a funeral. It has In loving remeberance of Austa Van Daele. Wife of Anton Mlekush. It has dates of birth and death. On the back it states she was saying fareweell to her husband , Children, Family and Friends. I was prompted to buy it for .25 in the 1970 at a sale. I will send a copy if you think it will help. She was born in Pitthem, W. VI, Belgium in 1884 and died in Moline,ILL in 1939. The best find is it has her picture on it which is well preserved and very nice photo. Contact me direct at dkazda@juno.com I sure wish it were my foreign born Grandfather Anton Kazda's family I found.

I am trying to find out more info on my family history. Here is what I know thus far. My Great-Great Grandfather (Andrew Mlekush, Sr.) was born in Austria in 1877. He had a brother (Mathias Anton Mlekush) who was born in Pluzna, Tolmain, Austria in 1881. Andrew, Sr. came to the U.S.A>. twice--once aboard the LA TOURAINE (French liner) on December 26, 1903 in New York City and another time aboard the ST. PAUL (English liner)on March 13, 1909 arriving again to NY from Cherbourgon. My grandfather (Andrew Mlekush, Jr.) was the son of Andrew Mlekush, Sr. and his father's 2nd wife, Kristine Pitanic. My grandfather had two sisters (Emma and Helen Mary Mlekush) and two brothers (Rudoplh and Felix). Mr grandfather settled in Big Timber, Montana and married Edna Romania in Roundup, Montana. My grandfather died in Big Timber in 1988. My grandmother Edna still resides in Big Timber. My father is Kenneth Charles Mlekush. He has one sister, Linda, and a brother, Donald. Donald has 3 children (Donna, Mark and Michael Mlekush). I, John David Mlekush, am the only child from the marriage of Kenneth Charles Mlekush and Paula Diane Conrad. They were married in 1970 in Columbus, OH. Can anyone help me figure out who are the parents of ANDREW MLEKUSH, SR. and MATHIAS ANTON MLEKUSH.

I, too, am researching on the Mlekusch family from Austria/Slovenia. My grandfather, John Mlekusch immigrated to Peoria, IL just around the turn of the century. He was from a small village in Austria called Mittelbreth. That village is now in modern day Slovenia and is called Log Pod Mangartom. My grandmother also immigrated from the same village. Her name was Pauline Wenzel.
