Surnames: Moak Alldredge Vigus Rohlf Castleman Forcum Earp
I'm looking for detailed family links in Butte County. Most of my information comprises recollections of my mom, and is not yet supported by external sources.

My mom, born 6/1924 as June (or Gloria) Alldredge, in Chico, was the 2nd oldest of 6 children - father was James "Guy" Vere Alldredge. Her mother was Mignon "Micky" Vigus.

"Guy" was born about 1898-1900, and was a WW1 veteran, who lived to his fifties ( I think he died in Modesto). Guys father was Joseph Alldredge, and his mother was Hannah Moak "Grandma Sam". Guy also had a sister, Olga, "Aunt Toots", who evantually married a Glenn Rohlf, who supposedly came from "a wheat-growing family" from Washington - Glenn lived in Reno (not wanting to grow wheat), before settling in Oroville with Toots. Toots worked as a nurse, at one time in a rest home.

Mom's mother, Mignon Vigus, born about 1902, died in her early thirties, and Mom & her siblings were then raised by Hannah "Grandma Sam" Moak (a daughter of Sim Moak). Grandma Sam had many sisters, Edna (married name June), Estelle (Forcum), Lily, Bell (Sample?), Mable (Brown).

Mom's mother, Mignon Vigus, also had a sister, Minnie Vigus (married Reid), born about 1900, who eventually moved to Hawaii, working as a nurse and a church volunteer. Minnie & Mignon were the children of a James Thornton Vigus & "Allie" Alice Cleveland "Grandma Cass" - who later married Elbridge Castleman. Mom also remembers an Aunt Carrie (Castleman), who at one point was married into the Earp family (Mom remembers as a child that Aunt Carrie once asked if she wanted to play with Virgil & Wyatt's childhood toys). From what mom remembers, the Earp had a nickname of "Boney", who died of a heart attack behind a family barn in the late 1920's.

Mom's aunt Estelle "Stella" Moak had a daughter Maxine Forcum Gage, who went to Mills College, and had a son William. Maxine was my mom's first teacher (kindergarten/first grade?). Maxine may have eventually moved toward Southern California.

Major Questions/Riddles
1) While I see the Hanna listed on Ancestry.com as dying in 1924, Grandma Sam (who was eventually married to a Samuel Dwight Overton ("Grandpa Sam") lived into the 1950's in Oroville, in a large manor.

2) Mom doesn't remember the Kidwell name, which I think is listed on Ancestry.com as a spouse of a Hannah Moak. Mom remembers Hannah's spouses as 1) Joseph Alldredge; 2) Brown (who disappeared); and 3) Samual Overton.

2) As yet, I have very little information on the Alldredge & Vigus family. Mignon/Mickie is supposedly buried in Chico.

At least one softbound copy of a book about Sim (Simeon) & Jake Moak was passed onto my mom, recalling their move west from New York, Panama, Ishi, Butte County etc. I also have a few photos of some of these people. There was also a strong connection for both the Moaks & Alldredges to Westwood, CA (Lassen Area), where apparently many found work during the Depression.

Anyway, any info or links about any of this would sure be a great help! My mom has lots of other memories of growing up in Chico, Oroville, Paradise, etc., that I'm just starting to piece together. Any detailed info on the Moak family tree in Butte County would be great (Mom remembers growing up in Chico with many Moaks that she didn't even know were relatives). Feel free to email directly.

Thanks,Don
