It seems likely that Longmire and Sparks is a coal mining operation, given that the article references several other projects by number. Just a guess.

At RAF Kenley, I was taking pictures of a street sign which is a memorial to an ancestor who died in WWII. I took a couple of pictures of the other signs too.

One was for a George Edward Moberly (born 23 Dec 1914 and died 26 Aug 1940).

If this is an ancestor of yours and you would like a copy of his memorial, let me know.

I am a descendant of Elizabeth Moberly who married Sebastian Swartz; their son Rezin Swartz; his daughter Susannah Swartz-married A. J. Hillin Lucas County, Iowa, in 1857. After A. J. Hill died, Susannah married Charles E. Smith 1866 in Olathe, Johnson County, Kansas. I am descended from A. J. and Susannah - their son R. S. Hill - first may have been Rezin, middle name Siegle (Segal). My father was George Albert Hill - born and died in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I have a photo of a lady taken in Hillsboro, Ohio by W H Downing- posed on the internet "Leatherbound photo album-rapidly deteriorating". Google "Rezin Moberly".

I don't know who this lady is, but I believe it is a "Moberly".

Would like to share info.

Nancy Moberly--married to John Talbott
I am the GGGG Grandson of John M. Talbott (b. 1808 in Westmoreland Co., PA) and Nancy (Moberly) Talbott. She was b. abt. 1814 in KY; her parents (first names unknown) both were born in SC (per info in the 1880 Indiana Census). While still unmarried, John Talbott moved to Indiana in about 1838, where he met Nancy.

John and Nancy were married on 19 Aug 1841 in Lawrence Co., IN. I have a copy of their marriage license (which spells her name "Moberley"). There is no family information contained on the marriage certificate.

One of her granddaughters, Susan Talbott, was given her middle name--spelled "Moberly."

I believe Nancy's middle name began with an "E," as her death notice identifies her as Nancy E. Talbott. She died in Orange Co., IN on 28 Mar 1886 and is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery there.

John Talbott was a Methodist preacher. Nancy's name was spelled "Moberly" in the obituary of John Talbott, who died in 1893.

If anyone has any information on this elusive Moberly relative, please let me know. Thank you.
End of Casey Gang - Lawton, Oklahoma

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 7 May 1903 Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

END OF CASEY GANG

A Band of Outlaws, Who Have Terrorized the Southwest now Broken Up

Lawton: Judge Gillette has sentenced George Moran to life imprisonment at Lansing penitentiary at hard labor. Moran was found guilty of the murder of Joseph Beemblossom, July 4, 1901. This is another step to putting an end to one of the most famous outlaw gangs known in Oklahoma. The Casey gang which consisted of twenty members in no more. Bert Casey was killed sometime ago in Woods County. Mort Perkins was given life imprisonment here last week for the murder of young Beemblossom and Moran got like sentence. The only one left of the gang is Moberly, who will soon have his trial before Judge Gillette at Hobart for murder. Dr. Beenblossom, father of Joseph Beenblossom, has had more to do with the bringing this gang to justice than any one man. He gave up his practice and has been hot on their trail.

Gayle,
Thank you so much for the reply. Apparently this is not the Susan Moberly I'm tracking. The Susan I'm trying to document is Susan Amanda (Moberly) Mathis and her mother, Susan (___?___) Moberly. In the 1870 census they are in DeKalb County, MO. The mother, Susan, is listed as head of household and was born about 1811 in KY. Susan Amanda (Moberly) Mathis was born about 1850 in IA. I have no idea who the husband of the older Susan was, but the younger Susan married Lemuel French Mathis born about 1850 in either IL or OH. Any help on this line would certainly be appreciated. Thanks again!

The daughter of Clifton D. Moberley and Margaret G. Douglass, Mary Susan(Sudie Elis) married Nicholas Turner Hunt on July 9th 1876, at Gunn City, Missouri. Mary Susan was born November 7, 1856 in Cooper Co. Mo. She died June 5,1943 in Garnett, Ks (Anderson Co). Nicholas Turner Hunt was born January 18, 1852 in Johnson Co. Mo. He died March 19,1940 in Garnett, Ks(Anderson Co) They are both burried near Garnett, Ks in the Glenloch cemetery also known as Fairview Cemetery.
I am able to answer the first two ?'s but the third I do not know.I am still trying to piece that one together myself. I know that his mother's name was Susan but that is about it.
Nicholas was my Great Grandfather. If any one has any more info on this line I would appreciate the help. It doesn't matter if it is going forward or back in time I research all of it. I like to know my present distant relatives as well. Thanks to all who have helped.

Hello ,
I am looking for the family of Harvey b. 12-19-1894 and Lonza Moberly Hopkins b. abt 1893. Harvey Hopkins was my grandmothers brother and he left home and as far as I know, no one in the family knows anything about him. I did find a marriage record for him in an adjacent county to his home county.Harvey was from Knox Co KY and married in Clay Co KY He married Lonza Moberly and had the following children Beverly b. 1914, Abe b. 1915, Gladys b. 1917 and Helen b. 1918 whom died as an infant at age10 months. Harvey was from Knox Co KY and his parents are Abraham Anderson Hopkins and Parlee Hacker Hopkins. Apparently he left ky around 1919-1920 as they have no other children listed in the Ky birth index. If you are related to this family, please relpy to this message or contact me at williamsmith_2000@yahoo.com

William Smith

Charles Nealy Moberly is my g-g-g-grandfather, and I have
everything on him except a photo. He was instrumental in mapping
the state of Iowa and helped settle the Blackhawk Indian war. I am also trying to locate the parents of Lemuel F.(rench) Mathis, who married Susan Amanda Moberly, the daughter of Charles N. Moberly and Susannah (Epperson) Moberly in June of 1870. Lemuel F. Mathis was born about 1849-50 in either OH or IN. He is found in the 1870 census in DeKalb Co., MO and in Buchanan Co., MO. Green was bondsman. They moved soon after their marriage to Clinton County, MO, where they settled. Also making this move were Talitha's parents and siblings. I am searching for James B. Greens parents. His neighbors in his township were Cyrus Estill Green, John Ross Green, Sidney D. Green, and Daniel F. Green. If any of these Greens can be tied together I would appreciate any information on them. I am certain that John Ross and James B. are brothers. Cyrus Estill Green married Talitha's sister.
