I have a slave ancestor who was apparently on the plantation of an Edward Mobley between 1838 and 1839. Edward's 1839 will (which list my great, great grandfather as one of the slaves) was filed in Chester District, SC. (My gg gradfather eventully ened up in GA with Edward's daughter Susan Mobley Taliaferro). Edward had several sons (Samuel, John W., David and Biggers) who may have also had plantations in the areas. Could one of the plantations you refer to have been owned by Edward Mobley or one of his sons? I would be very interested in the photo that you have of the house and any other info you can share, especially any thing regarding the plantations and the slaves. THANKS!
