I am looking for someone who has Moses Mohawk in their line. He was b. 1861 on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in NY and he m. Eliza b. 1857 as a second marriage. I am trying to find out Eliza's maiden name. Eliza was my husband's GGgrandmother.

My daughter in law Rosie, and ex-son in law William (Willie) are decendents of a Freelove Mohawk. She married G. Alger. Both "Lovie" and her husband are buried in Minnesota. They may have more info for you.

Do you know of a Hannah Mohawk who married Emanuel Bushong? He was born in 1850. They lived in Michigan and had a son named Richard J. Bushong. Hannah and Emanuel are buried in Sherwood, Michigan.

my name is gina harmon,i am your cousin. barbara olbekson is my mother. she was your dads sister. i would love to know more about the family.if you could e-mail gregs e-mail address that would be great. i saw veronica in libby a few years ago,although i didn't get to spend much time eith her.i remember the big white house your mom and you kids lived in in coeur d alene.we have just moved to deer lodge montana.

Hi Penny!
I have done much research on John Mohawk and his wife Lydia. I have photos of them. I know your Olbekson Aunts and uncles and also knew your father, Vernon. I was at his funeral also. I am curious where the information came from that Lydia , John Mohawks wife taught school? I know that as an adult she could not write and signed with an "x". I also have a copy of a letter supposedly written by her to the wife of John C. Adams, a Stockbridge Indian who was an attorney, telling about her first grandchild, Henry , the son of her son Isaac Mohawk. I wondered if one of her children wrote it for her or if she had finally learned to write. She wrote the letter from Michegan. John had already died . I would never have known she had lived in Michigan if not for this letter. She later moved back to Wisconsin and died in the Red Springs area in 1922. She is buried there. One of her granddaughters who lives in the area still showed me the cemetery where she is buried. It is all overgrown and if she had a stone or marker it has disappeared or sunk into the ground. The granddaughter did not know the exact grave site, just where the cemetery is. I have not been able to trace the cemetery records yet to confirm this.
I saw Loren and Norman and their wives this summer, here in Mn. I have a brother who also lives near them in Libby, Mt.

Floretta Evangeline Mohawk is my grandmother. She was married to Loren Olbekson. She had several children, her son Vernon Olbekson is my father. She died in Libby Montana in the early 1970's. I have much more information about her, the names of her children, and grandchildren, how she died.

She has family (her children, and other grandchildren) who live in Montana that she was very close to who have much more information. Her grandson Greg Olbekson, has much information. I would love to share, and would also like to know more about her brother (your father), and any other information you could share with me.

My father was a brother to Floretta Evangeline Mohawk. I am curious about where you got your information that Lydia Mohawk was a teacher ? and where did she teach? Do you have Mohawk information going back further than John Mohawk?

i am a desendant of john mohawk. he was enrolled at green bay agency in keshem,wi. lydia was a teacher and was enrolled with the brothertown rolls in wisconsin. they had 10 children. they were mt great-great grandparents. my grandmother was floretta evangeline mohawk (olbekson.) i have most of this family history. are you related? feel free to email me and i can share more information if you like.
