Hello, Gilbert. I took a look at your website and brief history of the Mohrs. If our families are related, it is further back than I have currently reached in my research. My earliest Mohr ancestor is Johann Heinrich Mohr. He was born on 18 Apr 1708 in Erbach, Odenwaldkreis, Hesse-Darmstadt. He died on 31 Jan 1766 in Erbach, Odenwaldkreis, Hesse-Darmstadt. He married Anna Margaretha Old on 05 Apr 1736 in Erbach, Odenwaldkreis, Hesse-Darmstadt. She was born on 22 Nov 1716 in Würzberg, Odenwaldkreis, Hesse-Darmstadt. They had 13 children. I have documented this through church registers for Erbach.
Susan

Re: Johann Conrad Mohr, Hesse-Darmstadt - Monroe Co., IL

Perhaps we are distant relatives. Your ancestor name: Johann Conrad Mohr, pops up in our geneology-which stemmed from Freidrich Mohr who emigrated to Kansas in 1860's from the Volga area of Russia. His roots go back to Darmstadt, where one Georg Mohr went to Russia in the 16th century. Go to this site for more similarities: http://mysite.verizon.net/tw.mohr/
I am a descendant of the "Kansas" clan of Mohrs who homesteaded in Otis, Kansas.
We would like to make a connection to any Mohr now living in Darmstadt whose ancestor, Georg, had left the fatherland for Russia. Maybe you are a link that can give us some information on this? Thanks
Gilbert Mohr

My name is Jonica Kelly and I am Jacob Mohr's great great granddaughter. While your information seems to be there the dates and some of the names are not matching. Which leads me to believe that Fredrick may be a cousin or uncle of his. But the name Pauline is one I am looking for as a Pauline H. married Jocob's brother William Henery Mohr. Her burthdate is july 25, 1894 and death is oct 11, 1960. And Mrs. Wilikison is also another name I know. There is one lady who lives in ocean city md now and my grandmother used to go visit her alot. I think her first name was Helene?

But I do have some information to share if you want. I am not certain if my great grandparents ever lived in the United States. Don't know if they came from Hungary, Austria or Germany. John Mohr married Eva Hager. She was born in Hungary I know and was the daughter of George Hager and Anna Puspok (Pispok). John and Eva lived in Cleveland Ohio approx 1914-1965. If you have information on this line, please post. I would like info on where they came from in Europe and then trace farther back.
