well my family is also from florencia zacatecas, anyways mojarro's are originally from huelva spain, possibly arabs from northern africa immigrated to southern spain so we are descendants of arabs. most likely the name mojarro could of originated from the word morrajo or morajo in arabic. and it could be possible with the latin influence the named changed to mojarro, or maybe not. the only language that actually has meanings for mojarro and morrajo is arabic. morajo in arabic means prairie and mojarro means galaxy. of course these translations are not exact because the words were not translated in arabic but its the best i could find, so most likely we came from morocco and even further back a thousand years ago when arabs migrated from mecca and Medina south of Israel or Jerusalem or pallestine when islam was created during or after the time of Mohammad. most spanish words using the j are arabic related and thats why its not spelled moharro. but for example john in spanish is juan a biblical name. but h is used in hernandez a spanish name.in english we spell laughter haha in spanish its spelled jaja like moJArro, and that ja sound is an arabic root. spanish is a latin language with arabic influence. arabic and hebrew are both biblical languages. hebrew being the language of the jews and arabic of the nomads who existed in the same land or areas. mojarro's origins could be traced back to biblical times but i believe it would take an expert or alot of research. either way i like to believe mojarros came to mexico as southern spanish pirates during the conquista or even after but what i hear from relatives and such is that they came from southern spain around mid too late 1800s to settlements with a bunch of other souther spanish or arab like people most likely for mining purposes during that time and after the mexican revolution in the 1900s alot of destruction and rape destroyed information and broke up many families. even though i hear mojarro's and other arab like people in that time did not mix out of there race until early 1900s so indian blood is fairly new in our genes making most mojarro's born after the 1900 1/4 native indian. thats why most mojarros have similar european or arabic traits such as thick beards, colored eyes, thick eyebrows. of course this does not apply to every mojarro
