Hi Bryan!

I think we found a match - fours years after you posted this!

Viggo was my grandfather's uncle. My grandfather's name was Karl Emil Yde (Møller), born 1915. Last time Viggo was in Denmark visiting was in in the late 1970's. And we still have a letter written in Dec. 8th 1978 from Viggo to my grandparents!

My grandparents spoke very much of Viggo and Johanna and how he visited for my grandfather's "Confirmation" in DK and so on.

If you see this, pleas write:

rice2power@hotmail.com or facebook me:

Gert Sangviriyanont Yde

Best regards,

The long lost family in Denmark :-)

Hmmm, this is interesting!

My great-great grandfather's name was Christian and had a brother called Axel too. However their roughly guessed birth years are 1854/57. "My" Axel and Christian emigrated to the UK although it is possible Axel had a brief spell in the USA prior to settling down in the UK?

Wonder if these are the same Axel and Christian?

The plot thickens......

I have always believed that my Möllers came from Denmark since they were located in the northern part of SH in the mid 1600's. Later many moved south to Burg area where my grandfather, John C. Möller was born in 1846. There are researchers in the general area that can probably help out. Also some areas have tax records and other info available. It is hard finding information in the 1600's and before although some of the churches have some. Family History of the Morman Church has much information.
Herb

Hi there,
I'm researching Mollers too. I originally thought they came from Schleswig-Holstein but I think they may have come from Denmark.
As it happens I am a German teacher, so the two dots are called umlauts and change the sound of the letter 'o' slightly from an oh sound to an oer sound.
My Moller is John Moller born about 1820 in Bornholm, Denmark. He travelled to Australia in 1855, where my family still live.
I'd be interested in any info you have!
Cheers,

Mel

Just read your very interesting posting. I found today that he is buried in Liverpool Cemetery in Brazoria County, Texas, near Alvin. I also found a reference to him in a history of Brazoria County that said that he came to Texas at the age of 14 and originally went to Austin. Decided that there were too many Indian raids and made his way to Brazoria County.

My descent is through his daughter Mary, born in 1845, who married Jacob Seibel. Their daughter Rosa Ella (Rosie) was my grandmother on my mother's side.

I would be very grateful for any information you could share on his background in Germany.

I think his name was changed to Mulling from something German that sounds like Mulling (lots of choices).
Original info is.....
My Great grandfather, Charles Joseph Mulling was a banana boat ship captain stationed in New Orleans. He is said to have come from Swinemunde, Germany (Swinoujscie) which is on the border with Poland around 1878. He was just 14yrs. at the time. He dies in Belize on New Years day 1913 and is later moved to St. Vincent De Paul cemetary no. 1 on Louisa St. Has anyone ever heard of this or any Mulling family from this area?

Thanks,
Karen Lyon
karenlyon@ntown.com
