Hi fellow researchers :)

I am beginning my search into my mother's paternal family.
The farthest back I have records for is Daniel Moniz Sr.
He owned quite a bit of land in the Somerset Mass. area,
he was a farmer. He married Maria Isabel Cabral {date unknown} she died around 1921. They had several children:
Lena, Mary {Maria}, Daniel Jr., Frank, Agnes, George, and
Johnny. Daniel Jr. was my grandfather; he married Palmeda
de Rego Baldaia and they had 7 children:
Janet, Nancy, Daniel III, Leonard, Steven, Susan, and Alan.
Nancy is my mother.

Daniel Moniz Sr. married 4 or 5 times after Maria Isabel's
death. I do not have names of those wives and do not
believe any children came from those marriages. Originally
he came to the US from the Azores, at this time I do not
have a date or exact location of departure.

I am looking for anyone who may have more on this family.
As far as my mother knows they all stayed in Massachusetts.
I have the following family papers:
Daniel Moniz Jr. birth certificate.,
Marriage certificate for Daniel Jr. and Palmeda de Rego Baldaia,
Death certificate for Daniel Moniz III,
Death certificate for Palmeda {de Rego Baldaia} Moniz,
Obituary for Palmeda {de Rego Baldaia} Moniz.

If any of these names seem to fit in your family lines I'd
love to hear from you. I have some interesting family
stories from my mother's memory and will also be
doing research on the de Rego Baldaia side of my family
as time allows.
