B.abt 1787, Oxfordshire, Eng.. d. 9-2-1866, Halifax, N.S., M.(1) Eliz. Jessie Mont; (2) Eliz. Margaret Dingle, 9/2/1832 in Halifax, N.S., left widow with 12 children. Served as Sgt.in Royal Battalion Rifles and was on the field in Battle of Waterloo. Believes family came from Belfast, Ire. One son: William b. 1836 in Halifax, d. 1875 in Halifax, m. Ann MacKintosh, 5-11-1868 in Halifax. She was the dau. of William MacKintosh and Jessie.
