I'd like to find out more about the MONTEILH families in Louisiana. My mom was a Carmouche. I have this MONTEILH name in my Carmouche line. The family lived in Big Cane, Louisiana which is located near Opelousas.

It's strange, but some of the things I've just seen in a few posts about the Monteilh's (about being aristocracy that left France to escape losing their heads in the French Revolution) are stories I was told about the Carmouche part of the family. I just read a post saying that there was a MONTEILH with the title of "Lady". Maybe this is where the stories came from about the Carmouches.
