Hi,

Does anyone have information on Noe & Honore (Henry) Montminy, (many variants of surname) sons of Pierre and Lucy Trahan. I have information on Noe son of Pierre and Salome Marchand married to Marguerite Dupuis. There is a Noe and Henry in the Detroit area showing up on the 1870 census which puts them about the right age. Would like to have marriage information on both.

i know of one son, Jules (Julien)m. Ermine (Hermine) Robert, dtr of Jos. Dit Lafontaine Robert and Josephte Menard, on Feb 13, 1849 in Iberville, P.Q. Canada.

Dtr of Jules and Ermine was Rose be Apr 1864 who married Edward (Edouard) Morin Jan 23, 1882. Edward and Rose were my great granparents.

This should get you started. Once you get back to 1920, 1910, and 1900 you'll know who the mother was who was b. in MA surnamed SOUCY.

I am looking for information on Pierre Montminy that was married to Anathelie Dubois. They had 5 children. 3 girls and 2 boys. The boys were Ovila and Freddy. They were born in Epsom NH. Pierre's father was Jean Baptiste and mother was genevieve. I may have some info to share with you.

I've got a few questions. Napoléon Montminy married to Marie Anne O'Rourke are my great-grandparents. This is where my story splits. I have a note from a friend of the family stating that my great-grandparents (Napoléon's parents) were Napoléon Montminy & Antoinette UNKNOWN. A friend of my cousin is a Genealogist & he says Napoléon's parents are Charles Montminy & Marie Longchamp. Charles' parents were Charles Montminy & Marguerite Maise (I have no proof of this but my friend has Marguerite Maise not Hinse). A lot of the other info matches your info.

I'm just beginning at this so not sure where to go for confirmation of this information. Almost everything I have is hearsay. If you have more information about Charles & Marguerite's children & especially grand children please let me know. I can share more info with you of what I have.

Michel Montminy married to Marie-Josephte Lacroix, daughter of André Lacroix and Madeleine Marchand, is the son of Joseph Montminy and Angelique forgues.
Michel had a son Michel who married Marie Simard d/o Noel Simard and Marie Clément.
Their son Charles married Marguerite Hinse in St. Gervais de Bellechasse.
Abraham son of Charles and Marguerite married Euphrémie Gosselin in St. Lazarre de Bellechasse, Quebec, they had a daughter Marie, our ancestor, who married Jean Labbé in Windsor Québec.

I have no proof but I believe there are 2 Michel Montminy. Son Father.

The son was married to Marie Simard on 3 Jun 1782 at St. Michel, Bellechase, PQ. They had a son named Charles Montminy married to Margueritte Maise on 8 Jan 1821.

The father was married to Marie-Josephte La Croix on 23 Nov 1750.

I don't understand the reason for your post. What are you trying to find out?

I grew up in their neighborhood. I can tell you a couple of stories. I saw Mrs. Montminy at a Bingo hall about 3 years ago. She said Mark was a doctor- I forget where, I'm thinking California.

I lived on Old Greene Road. They lived just down the street and around the corner, a few hundred feet away.

Your Anne Montminy is probably my grandfathers great grandniece. My grandfather was Israel Montminy who moved from Berlin, NH to Waterville, Maine with his brother Gedion. Their younger brother Leon went to Lewiston. Are we in the same ballpark ?

Georges Montminy

I am a beginner I am searching for my Mother's side of the family's Genealogy. Her dad's name was Francois but known as Georges. (Noone knew this was his real name including Georges until much later). Georges Montminy was married to Alderie Gagne. He was the son of Napoleon Montminy Annie O'Rouke (1st wife) or Sara O'Rouke (2nd wife sister to 1st wife). I believe his father's name was also Napoleon Montminy was married to Antoinette but have no last name.

There seems to be a huge conflict in my relatives as to who was Georges' mother.

I know there are relatives out there who might know something from this branch of the Montminy family as Georges had 8 brothers sisters Napoleon (the youngest) had 4 brothers sisters. I believe Georges had a brother or brother-in-law nicknamed "Pit" who lived in Maine.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

your grand father had lived in Berlin NH...will you have soem info on a Montminy that could have married Alma Labrie that was previuosly maried with David Gagniere..both were from Coaticook area in Quebec...from teh Labrie and Montminy a Carmen, Pete and maybe some others...Alma Labrie was born around 1890 and die around 1946 in Berlin NH.

My grandmother was married at the St. Rochelle's Parish in Loretteville, Quebec. They pioneered to Northern Ontario. about1920. My mother still have relatives in Montreal. I think there is a Mathilda Montminy m. to Ambroise Leclerc. and the Hamelin.

My research shows that Michel Montminy m Marie Simard had a son Michel m Madeleine Rousseau (4 Jul 1808 at St. Gervais de Bellechase, QC). They had a son Charles m Marguerite Hinse. This info is found in the book "Recueil de Génealogies, Bauce, Dorchester, Frontnac, Lablonde - Perusse, Tome IV" page 12 & 11.

Looking for information about Georges Montminy. His real name was François but that was not known until much later when Georges needed his birth certificate to apply for Canadian social security. The deed to his farm in St. Isidore, QC & his death certificate is under Georges.

Georges was born 10 Oct 1887 in St. Julie, QC, Canada. Married Aldérie Gagné on 6 Feb 1911 in Black Lake, QC. Died on 6 Jan 1966 in Coaticook, QC.

His parents were Napoléon Montminy married to Annie & Sarah O'Rourke (sisters). He had 7 children with Annie (Joachim, Wilbrood, Napoléon, Annie, Arthur, Francois or Georges & Luce) and 2 with Sarah (Patrick & Charles).

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Guillaume Montminy born app 1662, Ville La Rochelle, La Rochel, Ausis, France, married Marguerite Gobeil on 25 Feb 1688, St. Jean, Ile De Orlean (One of the 1st settlement on the St. Lawrence River), died 1 Feb 1753, St. Michel, Bellechase, QC.

An aquaintance of mine who does Genealogy as a hobby researched this & said it was my lineage. He says he got his information from 'Repertoire Books of the Church, Tanguay on Marriages, Blue Drouin - Marriage of Canada, Red Drouin, Early Canadian Marriages and Jette Dictionary on Early Canadian Marriages.' He believed these were my ancestors.

He said my ancestors were:

Georges (François) Montminy & Aldérie Gagné
Napoléon Montminy & Annie O'Rouke
