Seeking info on Charles Moore, b. NC 1796 (according to 1850 census records) married Mahala Johnson b. 1804 GA.
in Dallas Co., AL on Sept. 27, 1820. Moved to Lauderdale Co., MS abt 1838. He supposedly had a plantation with several hundred acres and several slaves (this is according to land records). His wife Mahala Johnson was the dau. of Lewis Johnson and Elizabeth Scott, both died and are buried in Dallas Co., AL.
Charles Moore was the son of Thomas Moore and Vestry Myrick. Thomas Moore was the first settler in Dallas Co., AL in Selma; Selma was originally named Moore's Bluff.
