I have a copy of my family tree (I am in college, the original is at home but I can try and get it over Thanksgiving) I have lost the first page, but the second page begins with Leander Walter Moore (b. 19 oct 1831, d 20 jan 1896) m in 1857 to Drucilla E. Quinn (b. 23 jun 1833, d 28 april 1900)

RIVERSIDE, Iowa - Robert Louis Knottnerus, 80, of Washington, passed away, Monday, June 2, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. Reverend Sue Meade of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverside Public Cemetery. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside in memory of Robert.

Mr. Knottnerus was born January 24, 1928, in Washington County, the son of Rudolph and Hilda Prymek Knottnerus. On December 1, 1948, he married Hilda Moore at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

He was a farmer and also worked as a carpenter.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside, the Moose Lodge of Muscatine and the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed watching car races. He was the proud owner of a century farm.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Hilda Knottnerus of Washington; his three children, Kathy Ossman and husband, Jim, of Washington, Sharon Schiefen and husband, Dan, of Cedar Rapids, and Eric Knottnerus and wife, Kendra, of Ainsworth; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother Don Knottnerus of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George and a son, Stephen.

I've found the answer; George Edward "Ed" Moore and James J Moore are both sons of Samuel S. Moore b 1 Apr 1821 KY, d 16 Aug 1884 Clay Co, MO.
Samuel married Ann Elizabeth T. Davis (b 7 Jun 1827 KY, d 4 May 1908 Clay Co, MO)...although I've not been able to determine who Ann's parents are. Anybody know that?

Herman Moore is my grandfather. I found in the 1910 Census that Herman Moore is listed with William Dolph and Lucy Dolph. Hammie and Walter are also listed.

Lucy should be Lucy Ellen Sykes and was once married to Allen Moore, but I have yet to find any evidence of this.

Hello, does anyone have information concerning this Zebulon's siblings or parents?

If this is the same Zebulon (1772-1836 - ?) that I have in my tree (there are three Zebulon's in my tree -- all of which I'm not 100% sure of), his father's name was Zebulon (1740-1844) too and he had a newphew named Zebulon (b. 1814).

If this Zebulon had a brother named Daniel (1770-1823), then I'm trying to connect him as my 4th Great Grandfather.

My 3rd Great Grandfather is Samuel Moore (b. KY 1816 - d. KS - 1891).

Thanks for the article LQQKER. I think you must have been thinking about Missouri when you typed your subject! It caught my attention because I've been looking for a John A. Moore who (himself) was said to have been killed in Missouri about 35 years earlier. The murder that was the subject of the article took place in Hutchinson, [Reno County] Kansas. It also mentions that the family had lived in Emporia, [Lyon County] Kansas before moving to Hutchinson.

There are a great many Moore's that were originally, and are still, located in upstate NY. I actually have an uncle named William E. Moore but he was born in 1910.

In 1930 census, Herman and Elizabeth Schmidt and Walter M and Robert J Moore are in San Antonio, Los Angeles County, California. Does anyone know anything about this family?

We have a Samuel Armstead Moore(1852) son of Armistead B Moore, Jr (6/1/1814-11-7-1884)and Susan F Crenshaw (2/7/1824-8/8/1860)the married 5/19/1847 and had three children, John C 1848, Samuel A 1852, and William David 1859. Have more going back if this matches.

Barbara unless you have a W.E. Moore in your line that was born around 1848 and missing, it would be a waste of your time. The first time we have found our W.E. was when he inlisted in the 123rd Indiana Infantry, he was listed as a transit from Ohio. Thanks for your response. TM

Any information about William E. Moore 30 Dec.1848- 23 Jan. 1925. Year of birth seems to be suspect. Joined 123rd Indiana Vol. Inf. March 12, 1864. In National Home for Soldiers in 1893 and 1895. Married in Nevada County,Arkansas
on Nov. 14, 1895. Place of birth and parents are missing as well as any personal information from 1865 to 1895. I could use some help and or advice on where to look.
