I am a decendant of the late Robert Lee Moose born May 9, 1891 and died Aug. 1, 1969. His father is Clark Moose whose date of death and birth I've not recieved. My grandfather's name is Eugene Alan Moose born April 12, 1938. His father is Robert Lee.
While I was visiting him this summer in TX I learned that our family sailed here from Germany in the 1700's and landed somewhere in NC. Clark and another of his brothers whose name I don't know settled in Kerrville, TX where most of the family lives. I've learned that I am of Cherokee decent and Blackfoot though I believe that came from my Grandmother. We owned a large amount of land anywhere from 3-400 acres until the early 1900's or late 1800's when my Great Great Grandmother, Rebecca Denton Moose ( wife of Clark Moose) persuaded him to sell it. The name of the land was known as "Moose Hollow/Holler". After learning a little of this information we visited the grave sites in TX. One of these cemetaries was Nichols but I don't remember the other names. My grandfather was I believe a Grave Tender for a cemetary but I'm unsure. There were several names that they married into; a few of them included Taylor and Graham. My grandfather's siblings included: Orba Lee Moose ( Sept. 18, 1925-Nov. 13, 1995 married Margaret R.) Albert William Moose (Aug. 2,1928-Dec. 22,1996 married Barbara Jean), Eugene Alan Moose (Apr. 12, 1938 married Esther Louise Gumbert), Hazel May ( Sept. 28, 1926) and Annie Laurie, (Aug. 12, 1936 married a Mr. Schlotzhauser) If any of these names sound familiar please feel free to contact me through e-mail at cheeky_d86@yahoo.com.
