      <description>So you want to play hard ball.  You could have sent me an e-mail instead of playing games by attempting to embarrass me on this list.  Ask kindly.  I don't need you to do my research.  What I did request was the return of the documents, slides and photos that were stolen by your family when our uncle died.  And you promised to make amends and guess what.  Nothing but lies.  Once many years ago you were highly critical of your mother, (as you were last June) afraid that you were becoming like her - well You're there. &lt;br&gt;And since you are referring to the Hungarian info I've had it for months. It only takes time when one has the correct village(s).  And a cousin is soon to visit the areas for me. Hope you had no problem finding the Moravia data.  Films are there if you look hard enough. &lt;br&gt; Uncle Arthur guiding you.  Say that to him when &amp;amp; if you ever make it to where he is. I'm sure that if your grandparents and your mother's aunts &amp;amp; uncles know what's going on down here then you and your other cousins are on their disgust list.  &lt;br&gt;It's strange how you coupled with that cousin who perhaps did not tell you but told the other family members that she was sure that your mother played a key role in our uncle's demise.  If you haven't heard it before, well ask the doctor.  It was stupid, thoughtless comments that never stopped.&lt;br&gt;Piggybacked – it’s strange to read that from the woman who explores the internet taking as her own the research that I gave to distant cousins.  Where would you be if not for my years of research? No one has done that extensive work in our family.  No one has visited the home village 7 times, meeting cousins, sharing data and acquiring the many hundreds of photos and documents unknown to the family until I did the work.  I love sharing and you could have had it all as I told the doctor – just be decent cousins and stop being so resentful of others. Stop lying to yourselves.  &lt;br&gt;If you ever decide to furnish me with what is rightfully mine then make the move, if not let it end here.  We'll see who or who is not favored when the time comes.  Perhaps some of what is portrayed on Ghost Whisperer is true – it would be interesting.&lt;br&gt;</description>

I guess it was just UNCLE ARTHUR'S HAND GUIDING ME.  Good luck finding those towns and the 19th century ancestors.  I'm sure you will have no problem locating Cecilia, Janos, Teresia or Terezia.  We found them no problem :)</description>

      <description>Sounds great.  I have recently found Peggy and she has helped quite a bit.  I also have found the husband of a Herpers cousin that is aiding our search.       <description>I was married to Bennie Guardado (deceased).  We had 5 sons, Ramon, David, Louie, Jesse and Bennie.  I have been to Donora many times.  Of course I knew his father Louie.  His wife died when Bennie was a baby.  I have a  picture of them together. He remarried Mabel. I also knew Uncle Bennie Garcia. He ran a bar in Donora, married late in life and had 3 children I remember, Bennie, Joey and Peggy.   I am in Florida right now and all of my pictures etc. are in Ohio.  Would like to stay in touch with you and  perhaps when I get back there (hopefully this coming summer)I can come up with more things that might interest  you.  </description>

      <description>Lana&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Just because there is no phone listing in the town of Vizovice does not mean that your ancestors were not from there. Some people do not have phone, some had it disconnected and have a cell phone.  The young generation moved to where the jobs were  The town of Zlin is West of Vizovice about 10 km apart.  You did read that there is a Machacek listing in Vizovice's phone book? &lt;br&gt;I do not recommend phoning.  It is much better to send a letter with family information, do include your e-mail and a photo of your ancestor for that extra visual aid.</description>

      <description>Such being the case that the document is in Czech language than yes the Czech grammar was used and that is where it comes to confusion since in English grammar the  " 's " is used and in Czech and Slovak the ending changes.</description>

      <description>My Daddy was Evert Lee Fillip, everyone called him Phil and his father was Rudolph Fillip. They lived in Texas City.  I remember having an Aunt Annie.  I think my aunt Annie was from LaMarque but I am not sure.  I didn't know any of my grandfather's brother's or sisters except for my aunt Annie.  I think  there was a Frank Fillip in the family but I am not sure how related to my grandfather. My daddy had brother's and sister's   George, Bill, Dale, Annie, Lorena, Tootsie, Maude.  They also had a younger brother that died young resulted from being burned.  My daddy was born in Kenedy, Tx.    I do remember my grandfather saying that we were kin to all the ones that spelled Fillip like us.  Let me know if we are in the same family.</description>

She became a Nun in the "Toechter des gottlichen heilandes" in Vienna.  Her brother ricard and his brother left there for America in 1870.  I am looking for the rest of the family.  This was in the diocese of Brno.  She made her vows as sister Anselmain 1869.  I have her picture which was made in 1869 and a note to her brothers as they left for America.       <description>If the papers was written in US then you would see it the way you wrote it but since it is Czech it has to be in Czech grammar no matter which country it is going to.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I have seen Viktoria on few Ellis Island manifest.  Just as Justina surprized me for being a name from long time ago.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If you can scan the paper to my home e-mail box and there might not be any more guessing on either side after I look at it.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The name SLAVIK and CHLUD does list in the phone book of the town of ZLIN area code 67..</description>

      <description>My mother's maiden name is Hampl.  Her father was Ernest or Arnost Hampl.  He was apparently one of nine children.  Her mother was Josefa Chludova Hampl.  She was one of four children.  One sister came to this country and returned and ultimately settled in Argentina.  Another sister came to this country and probably went to Pennsylvania.  A brother never emigrated.  Both were born in Moravia and arrived in this country is the early part of the 20th century.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My father is Vojtech Nevlud.  He came to this country in 1949.  He came from the Frycovice in Moravia.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am also interested in a cousin of my father's, August Isadore Nevlud.  He spent much of his life farming Idaho.  Prior to that he seems to have had a saloon.  The location is possibly Kansas, Texas, Nebraska or Idaho.  I am trying to determine where the saloon was.  He ould have owned it sometime during 1903-1916.</description>

      <description>I recently was given a copy of an emmigration paper for my Grandmother, the former Josefa Chludova.  It lists her father's (Antonin Chlud) parents as "Frantiska Chlud" and "Viktorie Slavikovy."  Frantiska is listed as Antonin's father, though the name is the feminine.  Frantisek would normally be the masculine.  And the feminine (unmarried) Slavikovy is plural.  I would have expected Slavikova.  None of these people except for my grandmother ever came to the US.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Any speculation on these oddities is appreciated.</description>

      <description>It is possible that my Grandmother presented the information wrong, but I do not think so.  On the ship's manifest through Ellis Island, she is listed as Josefa Chludova.  This is gender and grammatically correct.  The emmigration document was type-written.  Still typing and transcription errors are possible, though unlikely.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The question remains, why would she have used the feminine, unmarried plural version of her grandmother's name.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The use of Frantiska vs. Frantisek for a male is even more unusual.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Once again, the more questions that get answered, the more questions I have!</description>

      <description>The document dates from the early 1920's.  It would have been done in "Czechoslovakia," probably in Zlin.  This is where Josefa Chludova came from.  I will look tonight when I get home for more specific details.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Note:  I may not be an expert at the Czech language, but I do know a little.  I also know a very little German...at least enough to distinguish it from Czech.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks!</description>

      <description>Yes, I would have expected to see Frantisek Chlud and Viktorie Slavikova (or Slavik).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Funny thing is that my Grandmother is their Granddaughter by their son, Antonin Chlud.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The name "Viktorie" is also unusual. I have never seen such a name for a Czech person.  I wonder if she was named for some sort of victory in battle.  As I have no birth date, I can only guess that she would born circa 1853, about 40 years prior to my Grandmother.  As I recall from Czech history, there was a resurgence of Czech nationalism during the 1800's, but nothing specific that I can recall during the 1840's or 1850's.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Its almost a play on words;  a possible translation of the name in English could be "victory of Slavic women."  Of course, it could be related to something more personal too.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I may give my parents a call this evening and ask them if they have any ideas about these names.</description>

      <description>I will try to scan the document and send it tonight or over the weekend.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I suppose that anything is possible with the names.  Its not so much any one of these, but the fact that there are several things in theses names that don't make sense.  Of course, that's our point of view.  Most likely everything made perfect sense to these families during their times.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I found out from my aunt that my Grandmother had a brother that did not immigrate to the US.  He died in 1979.  I do not know the first name.  My mother apparently did not know of this man.  Upon searching the Internet for the name Chlud, I find several, including an Antonin.  Some others apparently came to the US around and prior to the time my Grandmother came.  My mother does not know of them, nor how they might be related.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;One problem that I have is that if Grandma was angry with someone, she treated them like they never existed.  My aunt tells a story of nephew who came to the US from Argentina.  She would not see him or speak to him.  My aunt has no idea why.  Grandma's sister went to Argentina after overstaying in Czechoslovakia and not being allowed to return to the US.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Much of this Chlud information comes from copies of papers that my Aunt just sent to me.  I received it only two days ago.  I will look again to see if there are things that I may have missed initially.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Again, thank you!</description>
