Classification: Query
Seeking ancestry of Alice MORDECAI who married Benjamin OSBORNE, a Master Shoemaker/Cordwainer, on 26.7.1826 at Bitton Parish Church, Kingswood area, near Bristol, England. Based on 1851 census Alice would have been born c1806 in Glamorgan, Wales. She is the only known family member found to date but could be d/o Leyshon & Margaret n. 5.5.1807 & c. 25.5.1807 at Margam, on the coast of West Glamorgan near Port Talbot. A daughter Mary of the same couple also n. 29.4.1804, c. 17.4.1804. Both registered as MORT.
There are 3 pages of names on the IGI/LDS. Few Bristol references exist but there is Elisha MORDECAI, a Labourer of Pile Marsh and his wife Mary Ann who had son Elisha c. 1827 at St. George, Bristol. A Morgan MORDECAI m. Elizabeth BRITTON in 1819 at the same church.
