Hello cousin,

Joseph Constant (or Constant Joseph) Moreau was born April 18, 1819 at Batiscan.

Constant and Marie actually had 8 children. Ovide, Adelaide, Claire, Louis Phillipe, Napoleon, Clement, Alexandre, and Auguste Joseph. Since both parents had died by the time Ovide was 16, the children were placed with different relatives. I'm assuming that Ovide, Phillipe, Clement and Auguste were placed with the same relatives or ones near each other while the other four children were sent somewhere else.

Ovide was married twice - first to Mathilde Brasseur. They had two sons, Albert and Joseph.

Lea Marchand was also referred to as Marie-Olea and Marie-Zelia.

Auguste and Lea were married Feb. 18, 1889, St. Anthony Parrish, Terrebonne, MN

This is were the line branches for us.

Ovide's second marriage was to Frazilda Papineau and they had four children, Ovide H, Marie-Emma, Arthur George, and Marie-Rose De Lyma. Arthur is my grandfather.

Actually - rereading the information I have, and the marriage dates I have can't be right.

Your post is fairly old. I hope you are still around. I am also researching the Moreau line. I think my first Moreau to come to Quebec was named Edme. Anyway, when I was reading your post, I recognized many surnames, like Guillet and St. Cyr. We are probably connected in some way. My ancestors moved from Quebec to Illinois, then to St. Louis.

I'm still around! This is about the only info I have on my Grandfather, Ted Moreau's family. Many of the Moreau's in my family have passed, and the others really don't know anything. This is all I really have to go on. This info was given to me by a distant cousin. I was hoping someone might be able to fill in some more info.

I know there is Moreau website, and I do believe I am related to that group in some way, but they say I'm not.
