Does anyone have a marriage or birth record for Marie Louise Moreau? I can not find a birth or marriage record. I found her death record listed as Marie Anne Moreau. She lived in Quebec, Canada. She was born about 1736 and died in 1791.

The Leon Moreau that is in this thread and lists his wife as rose and their children as leon moreau jr and helen moreau. Leon was my grandfather. He died about 10 years ago, in New Orleans at age 94. However rose was not known as minnie....and rose died in 1939, after having 4 children. This is my family. Helen is my mother and her brother, Leon Jr., my uncle, are both still alive.

I am looking for information about Edward Ernest Moreau (b. 5/20/1920 and since deceased). he was married to Elizabeth Jean McArthy (sp?). She was born 4/3/1927 and has also deceased. Edward's father was Azarius Moreau(sp?) and Edward's siblings were Arthur, Emil, Russell, Henry, John, Alfred, Joseph and Rose. (there may be more, too).
The family has Canadian connections, but settled in upstate New York.

I am searching for a Marie Joseph Moreau (Moureau or Moureaux) I have found the name spelled with these variations. Marie, born in 1832, married Jean Joseph Warichet, born in 1825. They had a son Jean Baptiste Warichet, born in 1852. They left Belgium in 1854 and arrived on March 30, 1854 aboard the STANISLAS. They supposedly migrated to Wisconsin. I am searching for any information about the family of Jacques Augustine (Augustijn) Moreau, who lived in Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the late 1700s and early 1800s. I have only a genealogy written by a relative in Holland, and don't have many other sources.
Jacques may have been born in Paris in 1711. He died in The Hague in 1795. We think he was in the French army. He married Cornelia Wilhelmina (or Wilhelmina Cornelia) van Asbeeck and had at least two children: Jeanne(tte) Louise born 1767 and Maria Wilhelmina born 1765. The witness to Maria's baptism was Maria Jacobina according to Gemeetearchief Rotterdam. No apparent surname, although Maria's maternal grandmother was Maria Lucretia Leytens. the grandfather was Dirk Willem van Asbeeck. Jeanne(tte) married Martinus Geret Smit in Holland and died in 1812 in Amsterdam.
We don't know if the Moreaux were Huguenots or not -- it seems unlikely if he was in the French army. But family tradition says they were.

William Alexander Moreau, b 08 Feb 1823 in Wilkes Co., North Carolina; d:15 Apr 1902 in probably Boone Co., Missouri. He married Rebecca Garvey on 31 Aug 1844 in Ash Co., North Carolina, she is the daughter of John Garvey & Phoebe Scrivner. She was b: 22 Mar 1827 in Ash Co., North Carolina; d: 21 Oct 1897 in unknown.

1. Mary A. Moreau, b: ~ 1846 in North Carolina
2. Catherine Moreau, b: ~1847 in North Carolina.

I have located William Alexander & family in the 1850 US Census in Lee Co., Virginia, but I can not find them in the 1860, 1870 or 1880 census. He reappears in 1900 living with his son William Henry Moreau in Boone Co., Missouri. On the 1900 census William Alexander indicates that his father was born in France & his mother was born in Maryland.

What I am seeking information on, is who are his father & mother? I have a possible name of Francis Moreau, but I can not locate anything on him.

There son Ephrem "Alfred" Moreau married Doria Neveu in 1914.

Ephrem passed away in 1924 and is buried in Notre Dame Cemetery Ottawa all the Cemetery new was that he may have been from Sarsfield Ontario.

Just recently I found out Ephrem had a sister named Aurora Moreau, She immegrated to the USA in 1925 possibly with a another brother named Alex Moreau?

With the Drouin Pages I could not see anything further than Alex Moreau and Elvina Jobin

I'm looking for the parents and sister of General Moreau, who was a general in the Napoleonic army but "exiled" to the U.S. between 1805-1813. His sister, Marie (or possibly Esther) fled to London in the 1760's or 70's, and there married, before 1773, my direct ancestor, Steven Pierronnet. Both were probably Huguenots.

Moreau name changed to Murray?

Looking for information regarding the family of Lewis Murray, whose last name could have been changed at some point from MOREAU. In the 1850 census, his last name appears as Moreau, but 1860-1880 show him as Murray. As each census states he was born in Canada, I'm thinking he may have changed the French "Moreau" to Murray during the 1850s.

In 1850 & 1860, I found this family living in Benson, Rutland County, Vermont. In 1870 and after, they are found at various places in Washington County, NY.

Lewis was born in Canada abt. 1807 and married Lucy Unknown (born abt. 1816 in Canada). They had at least 8 children:

- Josephine (born abt. 1839 in Canada), no further record
- Julia (born abt. 1841 in Canada), NFR
- Lucy (born abt. 1844 in Vermont), NFR
- Ellen (born abt. 1845 VT), NFR
- David (born Jan 1850 VT), married Victoria unknown abt 1886
- Emma (born 1852 VT), NFR
- Lewis (born 1854 in VT), NFR
- Peter E. (born Jan 1857 in NYS)

Peter E. Murray married Mary unknown abt 1875. They had at least six children:

- Emma E. born June 1876, married William THORNTON, no children.
- Rose A. born Apr 1879, married Mr. TERRIS or FERRIS abt 1906. NFR
- Edward James born Jan 1882, married Mary E. LIDDLE abt. 1905. 2 children.
- Mary D., born Apr 1884, NFR.
- Ellen, born Dec 1886, NFR.
- Lillian E., born March 1893, NFR.

My husband is the grandson of Edward Murray and Mary Liddle. I'm hoping someone out there connects with this family and can help me fill in the numerous blanks I have.

Is there any information out there on the Moreau's of Marainette WI. My grandfather's (Joseph) parents were born there and may have lived there, Joseph was born in Menominee which is just across the WI. border from Marinette, I suspect Menominee had the only hospital in the area in the late 1800's

I just received the cemetary record for Selina A Weathers (Morrow) she was b. in Batiscan 10-15-1873 her parents are listed as Francis X Morrow and Mary Massicotte. I believe the spelling was changed to Morrow from Moreau. Francis was b. in 1826 in Batiscan and Mary Massicotte was also from Batiscan. Does anyone have any information about the Moreau line realted to Piere Moreau. I've traced my Moreau line back to Piere Moreau from Saintonge, France born in 1616. I've traced the line from present in Ste. Genevieve, MO back through Batiscan, Quebec, Canada and eventually to Piere Moreau. That's as far as I could get. Other related Moreaus are: Jean Dit LaPorte Moreau, Anne Moreau-Guillet, John Baptiste Moreau, Claude Joseph Moreau, etc.

She married John Rauschkolb (Death May 1936 - Buried in Alexandria National Cemetery) and had two children that I am aware of...Lloyd Rauschkolb (Aug. 1923 - March 1999)and Johnetta Rauschkolb Marsh (Dec 1926 - Nov 1975).

I have been looking for my "roots" & have come to a stand still, I hope someone can help me in my search, my information has a few holes in it but here it goes any way, I'm really not sure who is older but one of them is my "Great's" grand father, their names are Normandy? (Norm)? Moreau I'm not sure where he was born mostly likley Quebec?, Paul Armond Moreau & he was born in Quebec (a providence of Eugnen) in 1895, one of them married a woman named Alise. I know of at least one son, Marchello Moreau (my great grand father) I don't know who he married but they had my grand father Andre' (aka Sam) Moreau & he married Yolanda (aka Clair) Rapavarona (dont know the date, maybe mid to late 1920's as my father was born in 1929 & was the first of 4 sons, Donald M, Leon M, Andre', Paul. Does anyone have information on Lawrence Napolean Moreau whom lived common law with Jeannette LeBoeuf whom was a member of the Ojibways of Penetanguishene? Lawrence and Jeanette were my grandparents, and my father is Wayne Lawrence Moreau who married to Elizabeth Ann Sloat in 1974 and divorced in 1980. Wayne supposedly has many siblings but I have no idea who they are. Jeanette passed away during the 1980's and I believe that Lawrence remarried and recently passed away in Pentanguishene during 2000, also I believe Lawrence may have served in the army during WW2 - although I don't know if he was a Canadian citizen or a citizen of France. Any help would be appreciated from anyone.

My gggrrandfather was Fabien Moreau wed to Phlomene Chartier. He died in the Precious Blood Church fire in Holyoke in 1875.
