Are you still researching the Morello Family? I am just beginning. I have gathered information over the last few years, but have never had time to try to put it all together. I still don't have much free time, but I decided to start trying to piece it together whenever I could get the chance.

I believe the Carlo Morello you speak of is my GGG grandfather. His son Giovonni, is my GG grandfather. Giovonni's daughter, Jennie, is my great grandmother, and her daughter, Geraldine, was my grandmother. Geraldine's daughter, Jeanine, is my mother.

If you are still gathering information, I would be happy to share what I have. I would also be interested in information you may have.

Most of the Morello information I have comes from a book my grandmother received from her cousin, Janet Perona Einhaus, who had compiled her family research/pictures into a book a few years ago.

I am interested in hearing from you!

Thank You, Becky (Weilmuenster) Ragan

Morellos to Morelle

I am trying to find my relatives in Italy. I know my Great Grandfather was Joseph Morelle. His real last name was Morello. They originated somewhere in Calabria. He had 8-10 brothers and sisters who were born throughout the world, mostly in South America. Joseph's father was a Morello and he was a "traveller." Joseph settled in Utica, Central New York in the 1920's or 1930's. He changed his name to Morelle and had forsaken the family name. I am trying to reconnect with relatives, or at least know where my family lived. If a relative of Joseph Morelle could help in identifying the name of his father, please help. No one really knows the family line.

Morellos from Pratiglione

I am researching my family originating in Pratiglione. Carlo MORELLO (b 1833) and Maria Felicita Teresa CAVALETTO (b 1839) had 10-11 children. They came to the US around 1900 to be with their sons who also immigrated. Sons were: Giovanni (b. 1861), Quinto (b. 1868), Pietro (b. 1872) and Francesco (b. 1878).

Carlo MORELLO's parents were Giovanni Carlo Francesco MORELLO and Maria Antonia GENISIO.

Carlo MORELLO's brothers and sisters were: Pietro (b. 1830), Antonia, Cecilia, Maria, and Stefano. They were born in the late 1820's and early 1830's.

Pietro MORELLO (b. 1830) married Maria Caterina ROLANDO. They had 8 children: Maria (b. 1854), Biovanni (b. 1856), Stefano (b. 1858), Margarita (b. 1861), Barbara (b. 1864), Carlo (b. 1867), Catterina, and Emilio (b. 1873).

If anyone in these families matches with your research I would appreciate hearing from you!

Happy hunting, Sally Morello
Hello! I recently learned through ship manifests that my some of my father's relatives came in as "Faletti". They have always gone by Faletto here in the U.S. Both sides of my family were from Northern Italy, Faletto, Tavigliano Micca and Ceppi/o, Sagliano Micca. They settled in Northern New Jersey( Faletto) and Coastal Virginia( Ceppi). Also, I used to live near an Anita Morello Silk who had a brother Angelo in NJ. I've lost touch and if any of this is part of your tree, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Thanks, Carol

Valerie, My grandfather's father was Jacob Morello and his mother's name was Maria Vendramini Di Conte Venramini of Venice. I understand that when she married Jacob, she was disowned by her family. My grandfather was the youngest of 16 chidren and his father died before he was born. My grandmother was Annetta Cecchetto and was born in Volpago, Venagazu and still has family over there.
I certainly hope this helps you to give me some where to look. The Morello children in Italy were educated. One of granpa's sisters Clorinda Santolini was a teacher. Granpa was born in 1878 and came to the states in 1904. Grandma was born in 1977 and came to the states a year later. They were married in Italy.

I am a Morello. My grandfather came over from Italy in 1910. His Name is Celestino. I don't know if this will help, His name was changed at Ellis Island. His real name was Marello. I couldn't find anything on the Morello family until I noticed that his name was changed at Ellis Island. To find Immagration records go to the city clerks office for the town that, that person lived. There immagration records are there and there free. I hope this helps.

I am researching the family Morella/Morrelear. In early 1800s they were living in Essex, UK. would be interested in any leads earlier than this. James Morrelear maried in 1823 an Esses girl, ann Hawkins. I am led to believe they originated from Sicily.
