MORENO-Edmund "Ed" Moreno, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family members on June 2, 2006 in Pasadena, where he had lived for 82 years. Ed was employed by Los Angeles County until he retired. He was a voracious reader, and he enjoyed crossword puzzles, refinishing antique furniture, "tickling the strings" of his beloved Gibson guitar and singing. Ed was a sports fan, especially during baseball and football seasons. He was also a great storyteller and loved sharing engaging stories and jokes-entertaining all-at family functions. Ed served with the 20th Air Force 3/14 Bomb Wing, Guam Mariannas Island. As Corporal, he earned an Honorable Discharge for Honest and Faithful Service to the United States of America. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 13 in Pasadena. Ed has gone on to be at the side of his loving wife, Artie, in Heaven. He is survived by his daughter Adele and his son Richard; four grand-children (his four "Dodos") Lisa Ayn, Sean-Michael, Debbie, Rich; four great-grandchildren Cody, Christian, Alexandra, Cara; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as extended family and others whose hearts he lovingly touched. His spirit, charm, kindness and story telling ability left a lasting effect on all who knew him. "Pop," "Papo," "Ed" will always be loved, greatly missed and remembered. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 17th, 2:30PM at Cabot & Sons Chapel, Pasadena, CA.
