Mr. Joseph Leroy Morgan, age 62, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at The McDowell Hospital. A native of McDowell County, Joseph was born Jan. 4, 1945 and was the son of the late Pink Asbury Morgan and Ruthe West Morgan. Joseph was a member of Trinity Independent Church of God and he was retired from Drexel Heritage Furnishings. Preceding him in death was his wife, Janice Hutchins Morgan. Left to cherish Mr. Morgan's memory are two children, Terri Morgan Lowman and companion, Ronnie Branch of Marion and Jerry Morgan and wife, Vicky, of Inman, S.C.; one brother, Leonard Morgan and wife, Mary, of Marion; four grandchildren, Brooke, Sonya, Tonya and Joseph; one great-grandchild, McKenzie; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at 1 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Randy Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends today, Nov. 29, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
