William Simpson Morgan or Mary Selena Stewart (nee Morgan)

I know my William Simpson Morgan to have been born on 21st May 1865 in Lisburn, County Antrim. His parents were William Morgan and Eliza Jane Morgan (nee Dixon). Furthermore he married a Josephina Brackenridge on 14th April 1897 in Shankill, County Antrim, but herein I lose the trail. Anyone know anything about him and his whereabouts, might he and his wife have emigrated etc. etc. Any news would be appreciated.

Mary Selena Morgan was born of the same parents as the above William Simpson Morgan. Mary was born 16 July 1871 in Dunmurry, County Antrim and married a Robert Thomas STEWART on 6 September 1897. They have (up to what I have found out) 3 children : William Cecil Stewart, Sara Wright Stewart and Lena Stewart. William C Stewart also went to Canada in 1929. Anyone recognise these individuals and have more news would be appreciated.
What year was your Arthur MORGAN in MO? Time frame before moving to OR? I have an idea. I never met my great-grandparents, Arthur MORGAN & Kathryn JENKINS, and never even heard them spoken about. The MO/AR Line boundaries as all were changing still in the 1800's. It's possible that she died, he went on to OR,leaving the children to be taken care of by relatives/friends rather than remarry. Very long shot, but very possible back then. Thanks for your time in checking dates and migration date patterns around 1889 SEPT. Who are your Arthur's parents? Their migration time frame?
Thanks again, Barbara Lou

Does your MORGAN book have anything on an Arthur MORGAN & Kathryn JENKINS in Arkansas, in Des Arc PrairieCo. having a son born there in1889 named Jack Henry MORGAN who migrated to Northeast LA, West Carroll Parish, Oak Grove, LA & married Beulah Frances CRABB. The only other morgan data I have is that Arthur's father was from IRELAND.

John Pierpont Morgan and Col Morgan Morgan

Is it possible that John Pierpont Morgan was related to Col Morgan Morgan of Bunker Hill. The reason I asked this is I am doing research on Col Morgan Morgan and his son Zackquill Morgan the founder of Morgantown WV.

I am doing this mostly because of their connection to Col John Gibson the commander of Ft Pitt and his wife who was the sister of Chief John Logan. In going through all these records of the families who lived in Bunker Hill, Martinsburg, Morgantown and Pittsburgh, they all seem to have a common thread. That thread is Financier J.P.Morgan.

If he is related, this could explain the interconnections of the Morgan families and their relatives from Bunker Hill WV to Martinsburg WV and from Morgantown WV to Pittsburgh.

And I was pleasantly surprised to get a response! I thought the passage of years may have made this a dead line of inquiry. I have not done any genealogical research - saving that fascinating project for retirement - but would love to hear any available information on the Morgan family. My mother always thought her mother's side of the family came from Wales, but that doesn't seem to be so. I have a beautiful photograph, restored, enlarged and framed, of Lucia Morgan Hogg with my mother on her lap (about 1 year old) and her little daughter Elizabeth looking on.

Thank you so much!

Judy Gary

William Andrew Morgan, may also be the father of my father's father, Hugh Jean Morgan. My father, Rev. Hugh J Morgan, passed away at the age of 84 on 11/08/2008 in Monterey, Ca., but the majority of our family, father and mother, were from Texas and points east originally. Born in Hamilton, Marion, Alabama, he and his wife Mary, had seven children. If any of this sounds familiar, I'm looking for confirmation on my family as well. My research is fairly preliminary.

in regards to your Mary Reese, do you know anything more about here? My gg grandmother Miriam Reese Price has 2 known sisters who lived in Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Married to a William Morgan and a David Roberts. I do not know their first names. They were mentioned in her brothers obituary (Benjamin Reese) in 1909.
