Does anyone have any information on this family:

William Morriset was born abt 1775 and appears on the 1830 census for Marion Co, IL. His daughter Kesiah Morriset married 10 Jun 1830 in Marion Co, IL to Samuel Isaac Williams. William Morriset does not appear again on IL census. 1840 census for Dickson Co, TN has a William Morriset who could be the same man based upon age. Kesiah in later census indicates she was born in TN.

Anyone know anything about this family?

Sandy

I'm trying to trace Morrissette (various spellings) in Waterville and Augusta. Info I have is below. Found ?? 'O.
Adelina Morissette married Joseph LeBeau

Adelina Morissette, born 12 Jun 1829 St-Joseph, Chambly, Quebec, to Ulric Morissette and Isabelle Denaud, married Joseph LeBeau 9 Jan 1849 in Iberville, Quebec. I cannot find any further information on Ulric and Isabelle (her last name could be Deneau, Deniau, or Daniau), nor any siblings for Adelina. She was in Fond du Lac Wisconsin by 1849, where she had three children: Joseph born Nov 1849 who was in the logging industry in Bayfield Wisconsin until he died in 1943; Margaret Marie, born 1855, and Louise b 1857, all in Fond du Lac. She may have died before 1865. Any help appreciated!
Moise Morissette

I have been validating my lineage from Moise Morissette (1851-1914) up to Francois Joseph Morissette (1772-1850). I am Moise' GG Grandson. There are some serious discrepancies and conflicts that I want to clear up. Can anyone confirm whether Moise' father is Joseph(married Marie Levasseur) or Adolphe(married Helen Lavigne)? If it is Joseph, can someone confirm which Joseph it is? I have found two Josephs that were sons of Francois Joseph (1772-1850). One born in 1804 and one in 1806. I am almost thinking that these two Josephs are actually the same person.

Morissette Family Reunion, 18-19 May 2002

The Association des familles Morissette inc. (Morissette Families Association) is having its annual reunion in Sainte-Famille, Ile d'Orleans, on 18 and 19 May 2002. This is 20 minutes away from Quebec City, in the province of Quebec.

This will be a social event, the emphasis being on meeting each other, as well as other Morissettes (any spelling), descendants and friends; it has little to do with genealogy per se.

This year will be very special because the reunion is held in the very parish where the ancestor Jean Moricet, lived, raised his family and is buried. We will see the plot of land where he worked, gaze at the same scenery he must have admired some 300 years ago. The Association has put a monument to mark the land where he lived. Bishop Pierre Morissette, a descendant of Jean Moricet, will be saying Sunday mass in the same parish where his ancestor is buried.

It is not essential to be a member of the association to attend the reunion. Bear in mind that all activities are in French. For further information, go to http://www.morissette.ca.tc and clik on "Year 2002 Gathering".

Lise Patenaude
Member of Committee for the 2002 Reunion
Morissette, Morrissette, Mauricet, Moricet, Morisset, Morseth, ....

Morissettes in CT?

I'd like to hear from any Morissettes out there currently living in Connecticutt or descended from Morissettes who moved to CT from Quebec around 1900.
I am the great-grandson of Edelbert Morissette who lived briefly with several of his brothers and sisters in CT before he ended up homesteading in Montana around 1910.
My Grandfather had some vague memories of going back to visit the CT family around 1915 and going out to the woods to gather berries for home wine-making.
Please drop me a line if you have any relevant info. Thanks!
lucas.v.cragg@accenture.com
caroncragg@earthlink.net
