"Ethel Morlan, 99, of Unionville, Missouri, died Saturday, July 24, 1999 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 25, 1899 in Pollock, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Olive (Hill) Altiser.
She married Roy Morlan, March 21, 1917 in sullican County, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Worsfold of Marshalltown, Ruby Hartke of Des Moines, Margaret Smith and her husband, Buck, of Unionville, Mo., and Olive Saner of Kirksville, Mo.; four sons, James and his wife, Sallie, of Pollock, Raymond and his wife, Joyce, of Eldora, Freddie and his wife, Kay, of Kirksville, Mo., and Donald and his wife, Anita, of columbus, Ohio; 43 gandchildren; 102 great grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; ninhe great-great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Also preceding her in death were seven brouthers, Clan, Ernest, Elmer, James, Harl, Carl and Olan Altiser; five sisters, Jenny Wishems, Dess Rush, Nora Wilkes, Mae McClasky and Gilliam Davis; two duaghters, Thelma Higgason and Loretta McPherson; a son, Wayne Morlan; and a son-in-law, John Hartke.
She was raised in Sullivan County, Mo., and attended Plainview School. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She and her husband moved to Genoa, Colo., where they homesteaded land. They returned to Missouri and farmed, retiring in 1964.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Scobee Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Pollock community Building and contributions may be left at the funeral home."
