I am the grandson of Arthur Frank Morman and have the same exact lineage you have posted. Arthur did marry, twice I don't know his first wife's name but his second is marie (now anderson after re-marrying after Frank's death) and they had three children, Don Morman and Lorri Morman (dolores) (now lawrence due to marriage) and my father, Dennis Morman who lives in maitland, (near orlando) FL and the mother, two older children these three still live in the
chicago area (Marie anderson, Frank's widow and Don and Lorri, his kids)

I am trying to find out more about our ethnic (possibly jewish?) lineage/european history. Who did the original research that lead to finding Frederic Mohrmann (the original spelling before he immigrated) from germany.

btw the immigration passage info on frederic is...

Name: Frederick Mohrmann
Arrival Date: 23 Sep 1844
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1818
Age: 25 Years 9 Months
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany
Ship Name: Charlotte
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Line: 16
Microfilm Serial: M237
Microfilm Roll: M237_56

I only have the 14 free day trial so if you wish to speak further past this date my e-mail is allthatpasses@yahoo.com

thanks I hope this helps you out.

Daniel Paul Morman

Hey Lisa I hope you have better luck than me. I have been searching for years wondering who was my so called grandfather, named Frank Morman, who died when my mother was a little girl. my mother didn't know much about her father. Exactly who are the Mormans? Do you know? I live in Fulton County Atlanta, GA.

One thing about the name Morman is that people are creative when spelling it. Still today people humorously called me Mormon tabernacle or ask me if i am a Mormon? Being a black Morman (mormon) is unique :-) I am curious too. Take care Lisa

MY GREAT GRANDFATHER HILL (HILLSMAN MORMON)
AND HIS WIFE (NOT SURE)BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS
RICKELS SURNAME. I AM ALMOST CERTAIN WE ARE
RELATED BECAUSE OF THE NAME JAMES. THIS NAME
COMES DOWN THROUGH THE LINE QUITE PREVALANTLY
MY GRANDFATHER'S NAME WAS JAMES FRANKLIN MORMNON
HE IS BURIED IN DREW COUNTY CLOSE TO MY PARENTS
JOE DIXON MORMON AND MILDRED BRANTLY MORMON.
THE CEMETERY IS CALLED CAMPGROUND. I HAVE
BEEN TO THE CEMETERY AT OLD TROY SEVERAL TIMES
AND HAVE A LISTING OF ALL THE TOMBSTONES REGARDING
THE MORMONS. I KNOW WE'RE RELATED. I'M NOT
CERTAIN JUST HOW. BUT I KNOW THAT WE HAD A
PERSON CALLED "COUSIN HARD" COME TO OUR HOME
IN MONTICELLO WHEN I WAS A CHILD. I ASSUME
THAT HE WAS A COUSIN OF MY DAD "DIXIE" MORMON
OR JOE DIXON MORMON. WE HAD RELATIVES AROUND
HAMBURG, WARREN, WILMAR, SNYDER IN ARKANSAS.
SOME OF OUR RELATIVES WENT TO CALIFORNIA IN
THE 50'S. I am James Morman's sister and I thought I would ask.

I have some papers that show the children of John Morman and Nancy (Rickles) Morman but, where it shows Martha the paper is torn. But I can see David Mu.....I think it is a connection. It is written with a feather...really. Tis old and very precious.

Shout back at me if you have any info..........and I will share with you, but it isn't much.

This end of the family would love to know anything we can find out.
No not related to the Morman's that I know. But one of my relatives was living in Greenup KY in 1900 with a Morman family. I know that they, the Morman families, were living in Greenup County, KY close to my Kassaw families in 1860, 1870, 1800 and 1900. I wondered if Sofia Nolte Kassaw was a familiar name to your family. There were many german families living there working in the mines from 1850's until 1880 some moved on to Alabama and became farmers.

Hi Dee,

This is all the information I have at this time.

Looking for descendents of Peter and Lizzie (maybe Elizabeth, maiden name cooke or cook) Mormon (Moorman or Morman) who lived in or around Tchula, Mississippi. Peter was a Blacksmith and owned some land in that area. I’m trying to find records dating back around the early 1900s. They had at least three children, Jesse, Robert and Ethel. After Lizzie died around the 1950s, Peter remarried a lady named Minnie. Jesse, my grandfather lived in the Memphis, Tennessee was born in 1918 and died between July and August of 1987. Robert lived in Chicago Illinois, was born around 1916 not sure whether or not he is still alive. Ethel who was born around 1926 married Volamon Brown and they also resided in Memphis, Tennessee, not sure if they are deceased. If anyone has any information regarding any of these people, please email me, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks.

Hi there. I am also interested in the Mormon
or Morman ancestors. My ancestors came from
the Isle of Wight landed in North Carolina
moved from there through Georgia, Alabama,
Mississippi and Arkansas. I'm trying to tie
William Hillsman Mormon, My great grandfather
to another listing that I have. He died in
Arkansas. My Grandfather was Fames Franklin
Mormon, My grandmother was a Courtney. My
father was Joe "Dixon" Mormon, He had two brothers
Homer and James Thomas Mormon. Both died in
Arkansas. My father Joe "Dixon" Mormon also
died in Arkansas. My brother's name is Jimmie
lee Mormon who lives in Austin, Tx. He has
a son Randall Mormon who also lives in Texas
We have a big gap in our ancestory line but
have a lot of information. I do know that our
line some of them spelled the name Mormon and
some spelled the Morman. (Around Ashley County
Arkansas)these names were Morman. (Around Drew
County the spelling was Mormon. I'm sorry
I wish I could help you on your ancestor that
you are looking for. My name is Dee Merris Mormon
Lochala and am glad to find someone else who
is searching. Perhaps we can help each other.

Nicki, thanks for the response. My Jim Morman was born about 1869 in either Montgomery or Carroll County. His mother was Martha Howard, but I don't know his father's first name. The only person I can find that comes close is a Jim Morman, born in Mississippi about 1870, in Drew Co., Arkansas, in 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930. I have no clue if he is the Jim Morman I am looking for. He had a wife, Mattie, and children Preston, Homer, Jim, Dixie (m), and Emma. Do you have other Montgomery/Carroll County relatives? I have Bennetts, Blaylocks, Howards, and numerous other lines in the area. Thanks!

I had an uncle named Jim Morman, not sure if he was born in Carroll County, but he lived in Montgomery County, Mississippi, most of his life. Do you know what his wife's name was? My uncle married a lady named Sherry, they had 5 children. If I can help at all please don't hesitate to contact me.

Nicki Morman

Yes I have tons of relatives in Montgomery Co, my grandparents were Miller and Irene Frazier Morman, their children were Upton, Bill, Simon, Lloyd, Richard and Jim. They all were born in Montgomery Co. I am related to the Fraziers, Trussells, and more that I can't think of right now. I do know that we are related to some Mormans in Arkansas, just know know who. I can give you more names later when I can think straight, it's late and I haven't been home from work long. I only have one Uncle living, that's Richard. He is in his early 70's and lives outside of Duck Hill in a small community called Sweatman, which is where they all lived at one time or another. I also lived there with my sister and two brothers. Please keep in touch, I am sure we are related one way or another. I will find out more info and let you know. Thanks for replying.
