Classification: Query
Surnames: Morrissette, Morissette, Morrisette, Morissett, Morisett...
You must have missed the two branches of Morrissettes in the Kankakee, Iroquois County areas, as well as Joliet and Chicago.
Not sure about the Morrissettes in Joliet, but the Chicago clan has a web site at:
http://www.lynsweb.com/morissette.html
My branch traces from Pol (1640 France) Jean (P.Q. Canada),Pierre, Simon, Gabriel, Francois (MIgrated to Illinois), Toussaint, George, Ephraim, Daniel (thats me). and two generations beyond.
My tree has over 700 names, but a lot of dead ends. Due to losing my electronic files in a major crash, I'm in the process of rebuilding, and will forward to the Canadian Morissette Data base listed below when I'm caught up.
Rick Long traces his tree back to a different branch from Pierre. His line migrated to the same general area mine did, but after about 40-50 years, they migrated to Kansas. Much of his information is posted with Roger Morissette's Canadian web site at http://www.morissette.ca.tc
