Hello Morrison's, This post is in response to Dwayne who is trying to determine Scottish or Irish Origin of his Morrison family Tree. This is taken from the book "History of the Morison/Morrison Family" Author/ L.A. Morrison: "The Morrison's were Scotts.. The emigrants were rigid presbyterians..In 1660 James I was appointed Viceroy of Scotland by his brother Charles II who held the throne of England..James was a bigoted catholic and the Scott Presbyterians were legitimate objects of his hate.. In consequence of this persecution large numbers were slaughtered while others fled to Ireland and joined thier protestant Brethern, from there they spread to England and then to all parts of the earth. "LET EVERY MORRISON DISTINCTLY REMEMBER" that he is of "SCOTT DESENT". That his name is SCOTT and that the term Scott-English and Scot-Irish so far as they imply a differant origin other than SCOTT origin, are a PERVERSION OF TRUTH and FALSE to HISTORY..
