I just found a new online bookstore that gives away FREE SEARCHABLE CD-ROM with the purchase of any family history book, they have over 20,000 titles to choose from, I just tought that I will pass it along to you.

I am a descendant of Abigal Moon. I have a lot of information on the Moon's, but have not reviewed it in over ten years, when I visited Abigal's grave.

I do remember, I have a copy of Jonathan's death certifiate and military pension records. Johathan and Deborah had 11 children. I have some information on Jonathan's parents, and I may have Deborah's mother's name somewhere.
I will need to review further and get back to you.

One major connection may be their choice of religion. It seems that my great grandfather, after moving out west, converted from a Mormon to a Catholic. I think he was trying to escape his Mormon past. Do you have any Mormons in your family tree? I do know that my great grandfather was born in Louisiana in or around 1838. Attached is a link regarding early Mormon pioneers.

Look at #15, that is my great grandfather. And look at the last entry! I do know that Keziah was a biblical name, it was Job's daughter. It could be that Keziah was a real popular name for Mormon baby girls. I'm just guessing out loud. And look at #19.

It has always been thought that my great-great grandfather's name was Arthur, and that he married a Keziah (we think Voorhies) in Ohio in or around 1825. One of the names of the children was Sabra. I am basing all of this on my late aunt's research.

going over some census reports on the internet i came upon a morrison (last name only) b. in 1799, Sept 26. it doesn't give birthplace

No online updates that I can find - but I vaguely recall that there is a new Clan Morrison website that got started and that there were some updates there, because I somehow know that work has progressed year by year. I visited the site in 2004 - well worth the trip - it is bleak and wind-blown and lovely.

Some of the Norse Morrison's would descend from Olaf the Black. The line of MacLeod.

My Morrison descends from Niall of the Nine Hostages. Started out in Ireland then to Scotland and back to Ireland.

Hi,
I am trying to find information about Lucy Lees, b. abt 1883, who married my Grandfather, Thomas Morrison, at St Stephens Church, Canonbury, Islington, London on 12 June 1915. Her father was William Lees, a farmer. Thomas was enlisted in May 1915 and left the army in Dec 1917 having been wounded in France. To date I have been unable to find any information on Lucy following the marriage.
Any help, information or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

My grandmother was a Morrison from Derry. Her father was Daniel Morrison from Donegal. He was born c1866. His father was Roger Morrison c1840 and I belive Daniel had a twin brother John. I have just discovered that Roger was descended from Hector Morrison from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland but I'm not sure is he was his father.

Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find links to the individual reports. The final reports are still being written but are expected to be complete around the beginnning of 2011.

There appears to be some updating taking place at the project website of www.duneistean.org but there is not much there as of today.

Another message in this thread has mentioned the Comunn Eachdraidh Nis (Ness Historical Socity) website, which does have some good information. www.c-e-n.org.

When more information is available it will appear on the Clan Morrison Society of North America website at www.clanmorrison.net.

There is only one "Olaf the Black", who was King of Man and the Isles in the early 13th Century. The traditional story(ies) referred to above both refer to the same person. For what is more likely to be a historical account, refer to the Chronicle of Man and the Isles. An excerpt is posted at the MorrisonMessages discussion group. First, Can you give the source that dates Mores, Son of Kennanus, to 795?

The Morrisons of the Outer Hebrides disappeared as an organized group after the Tutor of MacKenzie of Kintail executed letters of Fire and Sword "Against the Lewis Men" (Both MacLeod and Morrison as well as other surnames), in about 1616.

There was no clan Morrison in existence at the time of the Jacobite Risings - from what is known, any Morrisons present at Culloden were in the Argyll Militia on the Hanoverian side, or the Duke of Cumberland's barber, one Joseph Morrison.

A. G. (Andy) Morrison has written a series of very enlightening articles on Morrisons in all the Jacobite risings; they are now posted at the MorrisonMessages web site. To join MorrisonMessages send an email to MorrisonMessages@yahoogroups.com asking to be added to the group.

I really wish someone would fill me in about who were all the children of REV SIMPSON GABRIEL MORRISON Presbyterian Minister in Dublin, born 1815 died 1891, he married a REBECCA BEGGS,who came from Northern Ireland. and I don't know anything about her, so would like someone to help me about her also.

Also where are they both buried. I have looked through all the Irish Grave yards / cemeteries but can't find either of their names in any.

Please someone put me out of my missery I know there will be some of Simpson Gabriel Morrison's great grandchildren out there somewhere so please get in touch.

hello, my name is catherine wilkinson and i am related to the morrison, by my gr gr gr grandfather, i am pretty sure.
a wilkinson married a morrison 1895 in Indiana that line its self merges into my wilkinson family, still living, sorry with exception, my father died 10 years ago.
the tree is a public tree - WILKINSON,GREEN,ROBINSON,WILSON,MCKIM

to David Morrison, it surely would be great if you would enter the Morrison DNA analysis project. There are about 30+ groups and subgroups of Morrisons registered, with analysis of close relationships. Those of us in america and Canada, and other places, would watch eagerly to see if we connected with your family in Ireland.

Born in the 1930's, divorced sometime around 1960, had 3 children (2-F, 1-M) with his first wife (B.A. Williams). Lived in Texas and New Mexico. his name is Taylor Morrison and his background comes from Cornelius Morrison. now at the moment i am having a bit of difficulty finding Cornelius' background. full account of his father's name is a mystery, i thought came close but NOT
wilkinson side is from Taylor's marriage. he married effy wilkinson who is related to Aaron H. Wilkinson, who is the head of family tree at the moment. i haven't been able to see if he is a grgrgrgrandfather or a grgrgrgrand uncle.

My James Ward Morison married a "Jean" born 1742 in Ireland and he was born 1732 Comrie Perth Ireland. They both died in New York.
Also have a Scarlett Family from Northern Ireland. Contact me. Dorothy
