Don't know who is looking for Suzanne, but I believe she now lives in one of the chicago suburbs, but I have been unable to contact her. Lost contact with her when her navy husband was transferred to Great Lakes Naval Base. Been several years, now. Web search indicates a Suzanne Moscynski in this area, but all attempts to contact by snail mail have failed.

Marguerite [Morrissette]wife of Antoine Cheffer, was dau of Francois and Marguerite, was sister to Toussaint and Zephine and about 10-13 brothers and sisters who migrated from Canada to St. Anne/Papineau area of Illinois approximately 1850-51 based upon records of St Anne's Catholic Church. Sue has quite a detailed family tree from Marguerite-Antoine Cheffer to present, and we have made contact with another decendant of her line in N. Michigan.
Have made contact with decendant of Zephine's line who also is from Michigan.
There were two branches of Morrissettes to settle in this area, both patriarchs named Francois. The St. Anne branch arrived first, and were farmers. The two families were decendants of Pol Moriset, LaRouchelle/Surgeres, Aunis, France traced to 1600, Jean Morrisette (1641) migrated to Quebec, married Jeanne Choret, ended up in St.Familles, D'orleans, PQ Canada, They issued 12 children, and I believe the stone mason branch issued from their son Jean Baptiste Morissett (about 1717).. I do not have this branch handy to look up right now,but we know the migration patriarch of this family,Francois, is buried in BVM Catholic Cemetary, Bourbonnais, IL. We have no record of exactly when our migration patriach Francois or his wife Marguerite died or where they were buried.

If any of this sounds familiar or enlightening please reply and I'll try to connect you to someone or fill you in with what I have.. There are three of us in contact from 3 branches off the Francois/Marguerite clan of 10 varified 15 possible children who all migrated in the mid 1800s to St Anne. Our 3 lines are of Antoine/Marguerite Cheffer, Toussaint/Lamina(Bellgarde) Morrissette, and Zephine (Joseph)/Caroline DeLaurier Morrissett. We have fairly full trees to present on these three lines. We have not been so successful with the rest of Francois siblings, and have very limited info on the maternal sides at all. I am also in contact with other cousins from the 3rd and 4th generations on the east coast.

There were 5 families that originally migrated to Canada, and 3 that migrated to Virginia in the early -mid 1600s. If these families are ALL related, I don't know, but suspect they were. Just how big was France that they would have been unrelated in that era?

I have been out of the loop of researching for about 7 years now, but made some respectible additions to the Canadian Morrisette Archives.

Hope this helps.
