Classification: Query
Surnames: Morton and Warriner
In an effort to advance things here, I am going to post a series of bits of information I have gathered. This may help those who are researching Squire Morton and Silas Morton, but I am hoping it helps some others as well, in greater hopes that they can tell me about Squire and Timothy Morton, as well as the Warriner Family.
Here is the first round of notes:
The "1837 Directory of the Home District" lists a Lucius Morton residing Lot 20, Conc. 3 in North Gwillimbury Township, York County, Ontario. (courtesy Steve Marshall, from the Internet 1/7/98; stma0001@mail.barint.om.ca) There is also a Morton family listed in East Gwillimbury.
In 1846-47, there were several Mortons listed in "Brown's Toronto City and Home Directory" for North Gwillimbury (list courtesy Robert Stinson, from Internet 1/4/98; rstinson@uoguelph.ca):
. Silas Morton Sr. 19 2
. Friend Morton 22 5
. Richard Morton 14 4
. John Morton 19 5
. Silas Morton Jr. 19 5
