Fred came to United States in 1882 with his young wife, who passed away in 1888. All four children born of this marriage have died while still young. Mr. Moss [Mos] was married to Mrs. Gretja Hippen Luther who survives him with nine children, one having died in infancy. The remains of Mr. Moss were laid to rest in the old Edgerton cemetery which is part of his first farmstead, and was donated by him to the community. He was one of the first immigrants of Holland descent that first settled in these parts of the state and through his influence quite a number found homes in this neighborhood that have promoted the development and prosperity of the country and now enjoy its wealth. Funeral services were conducted at the home place by Rev. H.J.Heynen or [Heypen].
