MUSCATINE, Iowa - Dennis R. Mosier, 80, Muscatine, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Genesis Hospital - East Campus, Davenport.

Memorial services at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Leif Pohl will officiate. A private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mosier was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Wayland, the son of Ralph and Grace McCoy Mosier. He married Wannabelle Proper June 26, 1943, in New Brunswick, N.J.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Kiwanis International and American Legion Post No. 27.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1943-1946. He supervised requisition, procurement and distribution of ammunition in France during World War II.

He retired from S/M Farm Service after 31 years of employment and then worked for a short time at Pioneer.

He was surrounded by love and was a kind, gentle, quiet man who loved babies and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a smile and loved visiting with old friends.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cheri Powell and husband Jim of St. Charles, Ill. and Janice Hartsock and friend Brad Fear of Muscatine; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Mosier of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Lisa Miller and husband Dennie, Jill Mosier, Sarah Mosier, Barbara Denney and husband Jerry, Emily Goddard and husband Ryan, Joseph Axel, Carrie Powell, Jessica Nienhaus and husband Terry and Jacob Hartsock; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rylee, Tori, Allison, Dean, Levi, Clara, Clayton and Margaret; a brother, Kenneth P. Mosier of Grand Mound; three sisters, Kathryn Nelson of Bonaparte, Janette House of Burlington and Donna Seth of Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Mosier; and a brother, William Mosier
